Speaking of every fun thing to do in JA and spending large wads of dough there....has anyone ever gone to the place in Ochi (Dolphin Cove??) where you can swim with the dolphins and done the one-on-one? That is my dream one day, to get to swim by myself with dolphins!

On my first trip to Point Village in Negril, I won one of the competitions at dinner & the prize was a free swimming with the dolphins adventure in Ochi. But would you believe it didn't include transportation there! I only had one day left of the trip, so I didn't accept that prize & got some rum or coffee instead.

I can do this too - I have taught myself to STOP adding to the suitcase - cause I ended up throwing extra when I packed early. Although one trip, I had thrown stuff together in a rush - got there, and forgot my toothbrush - DJ told me - no problem, we can share - Ummmmmmmmmmmm - NO WE CAN"T let's go to the store! I love you but YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. That's not something people should share. There are some official health reasons, but I don't feel like looking it up right now. I need to get off VJ and finish all my tasks that are due so I can go home & go to sleep & wake up & GO TO JAMAICA! WOOO! :goofy:

Nat and Philly - the spreadsheet is too funny. Wish I was more organized.

Philly - is that you all eat..prune juice with sea salt in it :dead: ? My detox is fruit, veggies, nuts, fish, brown rice and beans. Not suppose to eat chicken but it's been hard. Went to Whole Paycheck Foods yesterday to get organic chicken...he won't touch it.

I'm jumping in my seat at that one...lol....it's quite expensive in that store. lmao

While organic stores are a bit pricey, I do love the freshness of the veggies and quality of the meat.

While taking [yet another] break from work, I found this article:

"Ask the Embassy"

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/html/2...US_EMBASSY_.asp

It contains questions to & answers from the US Embassy in Kingston

This answer was the one that surprised me. Imagine waiting 9 YEARS! Yikes!

Q: How long will the immigrant visa process take after filing for a married child and his/her family?

A: US immigration law limits the number of this type of immigrant visas to 23,400 per year worldwide. Because of that numerical limitation, the applicant must wait until the cases filed earlier have been decided. This can take a long time. The applicants we are interviewing now are ones where the parent filed the petition on or before August 2000 - almost nine years ago. A complete explanation of this process, as well as all necessary forms, can be found at www.uscis.gov.

Seriously  ...wow mi caan imagine dat woudah gi mi headache...to much wurk fi a vacation. I pack one week before my trip, lock my suitcase and that's it. If it can fit or go in my carryon it's not going with me.

WHA??? Lawny, you can go to JA with JUST a carryon?? If so, how in the heck do you manage that??

Oh yeah. It was amazing. I took the kids back in 2005. They loved it.

We swam with them. Got to hold on to a fin while they pull you around. And, you lie on your stomach and they pick you up by your feet and toss you up in the air. Only issue we had was you are supposed to lean forward and daughter leaned back and fell on dolphin. She cried and they insisted on taking us to hospital. We piled in this white corolla with me, daughter, son, driver, manager, and vet. The driver is leaning out the window yelling "emergency emergency" all the way through the streets. It was so embarrassing. An ultrasound (daughters first....OMG at the crying that she had to pee for what seemed forever!!!), visit to a doctor, and some pain meds, later and we are back at Dolphin Cove for free dinner. It was an adventure.

We went cause it was so much cheaper then doing in Florida. You can buy pictures and a video of the experience (pretty $$$$$ on that stuff but worth it). It was one of the coolest things I have ever done.

You should do it at least once.

That sounds very cool (except for the hospital trip)! I've written them on the web site before and they aren't very good about writing back with a price for what it costs. They never did get back to me. Some day though....

Hey ladies !!! wha gwaan?

Hey Honey! Long time no see! Glad you're doing okay and busy planning that wedding.

I CAN'T BELIEVE you took rum instead of a dolphin trip! :crying: Oh well, sometimes you have no choice....I just don't think anything could keep me away from a free trip to swim with dolphins!

Jamaica soon come fi ya!

Yes, and people have done that and some have waited longer...

I've gone to Jamaica with just a carry on before when they called an said my grandfather was dying, but don't forget that's where I'm from and I keep clothing down there. From I had my son, I just learned to pack light, I can always wash clothes and wear it again. I hate to come back with dutty clothes.
