Morning VJ Family!!

Thanks for all the calls and I know I owe a couple of you phone calls but I feel like I'm on a dead run this week!!

The day finally came - Anthony is here! Everyone went pretty smoothly on Wednesday, although he said there was a hard time because his visa is stamped for 6 months. He said a bunch of officers were gathered around causing some hoopla and checking the computer chatting bout why is the Kingston embassy stamping K1 visas for 6 months. As far as I knew that was the norm - you have 6 months to use the visa.

His arrival was good - I was standing in a spot where I could see everyone as soon as they walked around the corner so I spotted him first. But as soon as he rounded the corner his eyes went right to me and we both got a big goofy grin on our faces. I had my camera in hand but I couldn't move - just stood there grinning like a kid at a birthday party!!! He walked over and hugged me through the gate and I just deflated like a balloon - he was finally here.

Things have been going really well. The whole ride home his eyes were going a hundred miles an hour checking everything out. He did make me feel good Wednesday night when he said "I think I'm gonna like it here" because Whitehall is about as different from Kingston as Earth is from Mars. As soon as he got out of the car he asked why he never heard the pretty birds chirping when we were on the phone.

The biggest challenge so far has been food. He is working on his 3rd day of eating stew pork as he is not trying anything. But I figure when he gets hungry enough (or when the stew pork is gone!) he will try. I definitely learned the hard way awhile ago that I just ride out his stubborness, especially when he is the one most effected by it.

My kids officially met him last night and they loved him. They both had to sit next to him at dinner. And I loved him even more when I walked into the living room and saw him playing Dora Dominos with them and teaching them checkers Jamaican style!

I say it again and again, I never could've made this journey without all of you ladies - I love you gals!!

I have goose bumps all over

Nat and Philly - the spreadsheet is too funny. Wish I was more organized.

Philly - is that you all eat..prune juice with sea salt in it ? My detox is fruit, veggies, nuts, fish, brown rice and beans. Not suppose to eat chicken but it's been hard. Went to Whole Paycheck Foods yesterday to get organic chicken...he won't touch it.

Hey Shemmy, Yes my Detox is usually over the course of the weekend but we have been doing things on Saturday so that is out. On Sunday when I am close to the bathroom I drink an entire bottle of prune juice in stages throughout the day. I also drink sea salt water and lemon as well. Basically this is to cleanse out my system. When I change my eating habits, I cut out all carbs, sugar and only consume fish. This is how I lost the 60 lbs before. Its hard for me because I cook yard food all the time, I love my banana, dumplin, yam and rice so to go cold turkey is brutal! The 1st week is always the hardest but I am over the hump so it gets a little easier from here. I just have to focus on my goal of getting into these Dereon Jeans I bought 2 sizes too small

I know the detox doesn't sound pretty but it works trust me you will feel 5 lbs lighter

I'm a planner. I have this spreadsheet of everything to pack for a trip to Jamaica. I started it for my August 2008 trip, and have added a tab to the spreadsheet for each trip after (November, February, March, May). All I do is change a few of the clothes each time. I usually pack most things 2 weeks in advance, and put the final few items in there (like makeup) the night before. My spreadsheet has what I'm wearing every day & night of the trip, so I can just look at it and know what I'm gonna wear without having to think.

I think Steven was like when he first saw it, but by now he's used to that aspect of my personality.

I can do this too - I have taught myself to STOP adding to the suitcase - cause I ended up throwing extra when I packed early. Although one trip, I had thrown stuff together in a rush - got there, and forgot my toothbrush - DJ told me - no problem, we can share - Ummmmmmmmmmmm - NO WE CAN"T let's go to the store! I love you but YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And someone explain...how my mortgage went up 200 a month freaking dollars due to taxes...WTH!!! I'm pissed...beyond..pissed. That's a lot of money I could be playing with. I have a fixed rate...I'm going to fuss them out ..right now.

Sus you aren't being nosy LOL In Philly the going rate for the initial application is 20-30$ and the refill is 10-15$ per week. I pay 20$ and 10$ weekly for the refill. I take showers with them but be very careful not to get them wet, and just rub about my eye with a Q-tip after I wash my face because they will start falling off at the oddest times when they loosen LOL. I actually went swimming with them once and had to get them refilled again in Kingston immediately after so I wouldn't recommend deep sea diving LOL

Shemmy, I go to a Eyelash Salon which is totally dedicated to lashes brows and make-up and its owned and run my Men! but some lashticians can be found in the hair and nail salons as well.
