i understand Rox, and trust...i've been there..but it is what it is..no method to the madness...have u tried getting in touch with NVC to see whats the hold up...u filed since september?

thanks for the target info..can adults get one too..shoot...my glasses are so scrathed up

On the glasses, it's only for children. I talked to Vermont yesterday and they said it is in the hands of a case rep. that's fine but, I am putting myself on-hold from signing up for conferences and new projects for the next 3 months, becasue I don't want to have any issues when it comes time for me to go to Jamaica for the interview.

I need to plan Brycies vacation too and I don't know what to do, because I needs some dates and time-frame to work with.

Just venting... it's raininy and cold tonight..:devil:

Whats the number you use to get to the Embassy? I know someone who is desperately trying to reach them without success. (not the number on the website)

We have gotten through on 876-702-6450.

Hey Mrs. P, Vermont says our application is now in a Service Rep hand So it looks like our number maybe coming up soon.

Islandwoman knows the Kingston Embassy number by heart.

HEY Yardie VJ's, can I request that we don't have running conversations posted under the Jamaican Survival Guide post, the purpose of this thread was to to post all important information in one central place, so we don't have to go rummage thru 14 threads to look for this type of information. Also, it makes the thread long and it losses some of it valuable contents.

Thanks kimmy, but my life has been on hold for too long.... It's things like this that gets me down, tomorrow I am going to a big award dinner where I will be receiving an award for a major milestone, But guess what I have to go alone, I can't even ask a old BF to escort me. So this is a bummer on my list tonight, I can't even get excited about what to wear. I know they will want me to give some type of speech, but I am so down, I am not even going to prepare anything.

Joel is fussing with me about this and I don't even care.

I feel you on that part.

NatPat, there are some posted information that needs to be added to the Jamican Survival Guide list. The references to the phones numbers needs to be added and any other information that someone has posted since the last collective posting was done. Thanks for trying.

really, i dont need it?

not even for AOS?

i think i love you for telling me this

no email notification~~~ the reason i know i got my approval is because of my letter from NVC stating they would send everything to the appropriate visa-issuing post.

and the USCIS rep confirmed that they sent out the NOA2 on march 26.

fingers and toes crossed for everyone else

this process is crazy

Shawn.... in regards to your comment "As soon as she lives there and the real thing sets in, she will run back to the States" I would appreciate that you not make assumptions based on your limited almost non-existant knowledge of me or my history of living, traveling or dealing with jamaica or the cultures there of! I do appreciate your concern for my safety but as stated before....I have researched the decision and it is not a permanent move but at this time in my journey...It is where I am planning on living, with my husband and children....for however long I can afford to do so.

But when i travel to Jamaica this will be my first flight ever and i was wondering does anyone have any advise

for security~

wear shoes you can easily take off

no belt

all cosmetic stuff has to fit in quart size ziplock bag- only one per person

no liquids past security

no metal on clothes- otherwise you might set off detector and then be wanded

laptop out of case

i usually look a mess on the plane- and then change and freshen up in the bathroom in the airport

be friendly and smile with immigration officers

bring a pen to fill out card and gum to chew on the plane

have address of where you are staying

and declare nothing- play dumb

enjoy your trip

Awww Roxcie come on girl and get your rass in gear. You’re getting an award? Great for you!!! Even though your sweetie can't be there in person you'll know he'll be with you in sprit. This too shall pass. Try your best to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and enjoy your moment you earned it!!!

Just thinks years from now you'll look back at this process and laugh. I hope.

never flown with AJ

just be sure to leave plenty of time in the airport

sometimes the lines are outta control for both checking in- ie getting your boarding pass and checking luggage

and security

be sure to have your passport!

you will do fine

:D
