Good morning!!! I have the wonderful task of removing 50 million tiny braids from my head today.

That sounds.... quite time consuming and anti-fun. I remember when this lady put cornrows in my hair. They were only in the front half; the back was left free. I call that style "Row and Fro." Anyway, somehow she was able to put over 40 cornrows going from ear to ear! I was like, whose fingers are even that small to be able to hold so little hair and braid it! That took FOREVER to take out when the time came, so every time I got that hairstyle since, I tell them to make very big cornrows.

I set my alarm clock to get up & get to the post office as soon as they open. Lately, between the post office and my apt complex leasing office, I haven't been receiving all my package. Then, they never 'lose' things like the $4 books I'll order. No! The thing that recently never appeared is an mp3 player.

Today, I'm not even sure what this package is... might be a birthday gift from someone. The postal lady put a card in my mailbox that said I had a package. But she checked that it is at the Post Office AND she checked that it is in the leasing office! I went to both places and neither had it. The lady at the post office said to arrive before 9:30 and I should be able to catch the person who delivers my mail to ask where my package is.

So I have a ponderance to bring up here.....for those of you who have recently (or even not so recently) had your SO make it here and are going through the adjustment, did you have to do any mental preparation for a 'new' life?? ...

I think part of the challenge, at least before the EAD, will be in NOT controlling resources too much... At least, that will be my thing, partly cause I'm frugal (in many ways). If I have visitors over who use too many paper towels, I get irked.

I, also, am curious to hear others' tales of mental preparation.

he bungies the moment his head hits the pillow, i lay there awake wanting to pinch his nose or beat him with a pillow. as far as the sharing vibe- you love him, therefore you will make it work! no worries

portland~ i scoured the sub-forums yesterday researching k2 visas. i think that you have one year from your mans visa issuance to secure a visa for his child, and then i think you have 6 months from the k2 issuance to travel. my head was spinning, so please please please dont take this for truth. but i know i saw the answer to your question. good luck- keep me updated as to how it goes, i think this is the way were going to get his lil one here.

Thanks for responding to my questions... I know we have until December for her to use the K2 but my worry is, we would have to wait until about September or November to get it issued since we are hoping to bring her back with us in February. But, who will go to the embassy for the appt, I don't know if we will be able to do another trip there in Sept or Nov. I wonder if baby-madda would go cause that's all they really need is her permission!

OOOO your postal carrier would piss me off royally. My postal lady is WONDERFUL. I just get delivered everyone else's mail on my street, and I sort it out as make sure I never miss a package. LMAO

Paper towels and kleenex is not in the budget with two little greedy men that eat everything not tied down. LMAO

I don't have a problem sharing a bed...but I cannot stand a snoring man or someone that has to rock themselves to sleep.

Portland I wish I had the answer...I'm not sure on the timeframe allowed outside of the 12 months to file the K2 after POE.

I picked two dresses...I will more than likely pick the blush colored one with the one shoulder strap...and sell the other.

The post office opens at 9am. I got there at 9:03 and was the 9th person in line! I'm like... do people camp out here??

Anyway, after a 20+ minute wait in line, they didn't find my package. I came back to my apt complex and had them check a second time, too. No luck.

Silver lining of the morning: two people got approved this week that actually filed before me! So my number went down a few. One of them filed at the end of October. His/Her NOA2 came about 6 months & 1 week after NOA1. I'm always glad to see people from a while ago [finally] get their approval.

Ok I have a question, hubby is going to do the passport for his daughter, and according to her mom she wont let her come this year. Does anyone know if the K2 visa is the same as the K1, like if we went to the embassy and got it, will she have 6 months to travel on it?

since we already file for AOS would it be possible to wait until we file for ROC to do her AOS so we wouldnt have to do an ROC for her too?

Portland - he has 1 year from his visa to get her completed, and then she has 6 months from when her visa is issued to enter the US.

You just gotta be careful P, cuz her visa needs to be completed before the 1 year is up - timing will be chancy with the embassy.

Thats still the plan...have 3 months before the proposed move so I have lots to do to make it happen.
