Hey ladies!

KK I think your friend has definite trust issues.

Sus I see your point as well, and I agree wholeheartedly. However, I understand (not necessarily agree with) DaDa's point of view. If we look at this based on the types of men we are dating, I think African Americans males don't have the same vacation activities as say White American men. Most African American men are not surfing or being beach bums enjoying the Caribbean...if they travel in a pack...they are usually on the prowl. LOL I am not trying to be stereotypical...just a suggestion as to why DaDa responded like she did.

I don't have a problem with A travelling without me. I trust him until he gives me a reason not to trust him. Just last night, we were talking about travelling after he gets here and gets AP. We decided that our first trip will be a cruise to anywhere but Jamaica. I told him "Yeah baby...that will be cool, and the ship is big enough for us to take a breather from each other if you start working my nerves. Okay Baby I'm going to do xyz...see you in a little while." He was rolling! Then he told me that I wasn't easy. I just think a couple doesn't have to be joined at the hip at all times to be in love. It reeks of insecurity and lack of trust if one partner can't let the other out of their sight for a minute.

:star: That is exactly what I meant. Most guys I know wont go all the way to the Caribbean or any island for that matter just to fish or hang out. Most of them drive an hour or two and call it a day but like I said that is most of the men I know. The ones that do travel without a woman or in a pack of men like Jawi said are on the prowl. I just don’t know any grown men that travel out of the US together.

I do agree that a couple doesn’t have to be joined at the hip. They say distance makes the heart grow fonder and most of the time you notice when one person goes away when you come back you and your partner are so happy to see each other so that is a good thing.

See, my experience with this is different - One of my dearest friends just went with a bunch of the guys to Mexico - They went to fish, without their women - Of course, now they are all under swine flue quarantine - But that's a whole different topic! These are AA men -

I tried KFC (against my better judgement) in Linstead...and became violently ill. I don't know what it is about the 21 spices of KFC that make me vomit all over the place EVERY time. So...I will NEVER touch KFC chicken again...regardless of where it is. :dead:

LOL.. poor guys..

yep sus, we can't catergorize men. some men do like things that other men don't ordinarily get into.. just like all men don't like basketball and football. my ex has been on a cruise and to chill w/ the boys, some men really do have interests in these kinds of things,

like we all have said it still boils down to TRUST.. i mean u never know what ur man is doing even if he go down to the fishing hole and fish.. LOOK AT BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN.. lol

even tho that is a "me and the boys" thing to do.. he might have his mistress meet him at the cabin.. or might make a detour to her house.. if he gonna cheat he gonna cheat.. dont make the fault be that he is going to an island..

Hello, everyone.

Today is my first day back to work and BOOOOOOY is it hectic! Plus, I found a pattern with my sleep the past couple of days. Everytime I take the antibiotics medicine, I fall asleep within 1.5 - 2 hours. I took it this morning then later felt drowsy, but have too much to do at work to wallow in sleepiness.

I came home for lunch to take a nap, but first checked with my apt complex office for a package that should've arrived a while ago. Long story short, they mismanage packages all the time and looks like they returned this one because I didn't pick it up within a few days. However, I DID go to pick up packages and they gave me one. I said "Shouldn't I have two?" and they came out with another one. But now I realize I should've had three packages. On the positive side, I'm out $15 instead of some much larger sum. Still frustrated with it though... and didn't get a nap.

Culture, very sorry to hear about your SO being sick and not attending the interview.

As far as a group of men traveling together, unless it's for some sports event, I just can't see it.

Juice, as DaDa used it, probably refers to Juicy Patties. That name sticks in my mind, even though I haven't ever been there, cause every time we pass the one in downtown Negril, I think of a strip joint.

I got the KFC coupon, but have never been a fan. Being born & raised in New Orleans, I prefer Popeyes.

I remember being at M'ville in Ochi with Jonesie and another aquaintance. We were sitting at the bar, and two AA men walked up and sat next to us. They struck up a convo in which the other aquaintance asked them what hotel they were staying. They responded Hedo. We looked at each other because we knew where she was headed. So she asked where were their lady friends...and the guys said "Oh it's just the fellas this time."

At that point, she starts speaking in patwah about them being batty bwoys inna Sodom and Gomorrah...fiyah pon such slackness. It was rather funny because they didn't understand a lick of what she said...and the look on their faces was priceless. She asked them if they liked ladies or men...just rude. Jonesie and I ended up apologizing to them.

Long story short...the general thought process is that they were probably on an all guys' trip staying in Hedo to check out the lovely naked beauties (on the prowl)...or they were into each other. AA men usually don't travel to an island without a woman or without being on the lookout for one/several...even if they go under the guise of a "fishing trip".

I guess in MY WORLD noticed I said in my world and I don’t mean AA world I mean mine Dada's world its more common for men to suggest they are going fishing but I'm not used to men saying they are going away anywhere more than a couple of hours away unless its Vegas.

Quana in my world your ex going on a cruise with men would have been very suspect to me. Sorry hun I just never heard of guys doing that together..
