I was thinking of something the other day. It seems like a lot of the petitioners and their SOs are getting through a bit easier and faster these days. I almost wonder if there's an unspoken idea circulating around at the embassy or just in general there. If people are approved and can go abroad, that means more remittances back to the home country which means more money funneling in to the country which is good for the economy. Made me wonder if that doesn't have a little something to do with approvals and things moving along a little more quickly now.

Well, I just submitted my last final, so I am saying a prayer that she gives me a good grade (don't like this teacher, lol) - Thanks to all for the positive thoughts and PMs, it has been a he** of a week - and next weekend, I am going out with my girls and getting royally drunk, cause I deserve it!!

Too tired to go back and re-read it all - Hope everyone is doing well, and congrats Love on getting the visa so quick. Ells, I wish you were right - but it just seems to be the nature of the game with the embassy - some times they move fast, sometimes they move slow -

I'm home by myself. Right now, the most painful thing is my right hand. They couldn't find a vein and seemed to wiggle the needle all in that hand. It was VERY painful. But then they switched to the left hand and it was fine. When they woke me up afterwards, the only pain I felt was in my right hand. Mouth still numb, so I can't speak clearly. I didn't know in advance that I could drink liquids only for 2 days. I had a whole menu planned with creamy spinach soup & protein shakes with strawberries blended in. They said no spinach in the soup and no strawberries in the protein shake (cause of the seeds).

I look hideous with this contraption around my face. I'll probably post a picture on Facebook.

On a positive note, I hope to lose a couple of lbs from this experience!

Glad everything went okay Nat! Get some rest so you're body can start healing.

Nat,

I was wondering that about the spinach..just like anything that could get in the holes that ur teeth used to occupy. In pain on drugs and thinking about losing lbs... ur too funny! Get some rest.

Nat,

I drained the spinach out of the soup and it was still good and had spinach flavor... so not a complete loss. But even if I drink 2 protein shakes and some chicken broth the next few days, that's less than 500 calories! It would spark some good [temporary] results, but I don't think it's healthy. So I need to find some more substantial liquid meals.

That's so great that you were well received. That can make all the difference in a work environment. But I'm confused. I thought this job that you were talking about is IN Jamaica. I guess you haven't made the move yet.

Congrats Sus on finishing your final papers! I've got a presentation to prepare with a partner and haven't done a dang thing yet! This is going to be a stressful 3 weeks between my final project, cleaning up my apartment and prepping to go to JA and getting everything set. I'm just going to try and focus on school as well and worry about the rest later.

This weekend I went camping at a festival called Firedrums which is all these fire spinners/dancers/performers doing their thing while we drum for them. Even though it rained for most of it and was a muddy mess half the time, it was still a lot of fun. It was great to come home and get dry and warm though. It was also great to take a shower and try to wash off the campfire smoke smell. Last night I got out of the shower and STILL smelled smoke! Realized that even after a very thorough shampooing, my hair hardly smells any cleaner. Guess it's going to take 2-3 more washes for the campfire to leave my head!

Girl why Roc tell me yesterday em told his landlord ta cut his cable cut off.. He said he just doesn’t see the sense in paying fi it when he’s never there or most of the channels don't come in or nothing is on. He said all that is ever on is some sponge bob brick pants and he doesn’t watch that.. Girl I lol but in my head I'm like o.k. so when I come I'm supposed to do what? I’m one of them people that sleeps with the tv on and I always wake so early before him because my body is on my work schedule that normally to pass the time I'll turn on the t.v. I can just picture myself laying or sitting there like  .

I'm like Nat, don't even care to watch TV in JA. And, I too can think of other things to do besides watch TV! :P

DaDa,

I understand! Before we got cable I used to watch TVJ ...there's only so much news I wanna see. Since we live in the country there isn't too much to keep you occupied other than visiting..( I do this when A goes to work and we only have 1 car). Then I upgraded to bringing videos...that got too expensive...now we have cable, so I have options! Whoo!
