@ op, now i am in the same situation as you. i was just about to send in my I-129F and realized i didn't have my letter of intent from my wife. Please let me know what you choose to do. I'm leaning towards the CR1, but may send in my I-129f as well. Good luck in whatever you choose t do :)

Hi Hopeful_1, well.. we managed to get a hold of USCIS today. First, they told us that they never printed our NOA1 and never sent it due to some system glitch; that they will send us a duplicate copy to us. So... hubby and I discussed it and we decided not to go through with our K3. We're just afraid that they will pair off our Form I-130 and the Form I129F and put us behind the line again. Second, they told us that normally CSC process the I-130 within 2 months. We've already been waiting for a month, if we go ahead and file the K3 and it gets paired off... all this time that we've already spent on waiting will be for nothing. PLUS, I can't go visiting Canada or crossing it with the K3.. I mean without filing more paper works. My hubby's work goes back and forth from Canada to Alaska to everywhere else in the US. I don't want to have to deal with more problems when I do get to the US. So we're just sticking on the CR1 and hopefully... things do get approved more or less in 2 months time. Finally, they told us that our file is still in the mail room and no officer is assigned to it yet. Which gave us a mini depression but we're coping.

Good luck on your papers.

TO everyone else... THANK YOU so much for answering my questions. You've all been a big help.

Hi tngirl, I understand what you mean about pairing the I-129F and the I-130. That's what my wife and i afraid of too. However, we decided to take our chances with the CR1 route. One thing i like about the CR1, (even if it might take a little longer) is not having to worry about AOS and maybe for you since you'll be traveling a lot, this is a plus. I don't know if you saw the LingChe NVC ShortCut for CR1/IR1 , but here's a link http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut Btw, sorry to hear about your I-130 taking so long. I know it's hard being patience when you're so far away from your loved one. I hope everything goes well and your CR1 get's approved soon. Take care and good luck :)

I-130 - 03/30/09

NOA1 - 04/07/09

NOA2- 08/03/09

NVC 10/16/09
