I want to ask you guys for some opinion.

Few days ago I moved to other state (my husband will follow me in a couple of months or so), and we have our AOS interview in the meantime. I am going to fly back to my husband to attend this interwview.

We are wondering if I should file change of address for myself or not. I would imagine it would interfere with the interview - since I am the applicant.

Is it ok if I will not file anything, and at the interview told them the new address to send a green card (if approved), actually it could be also sent to my husband and them he could send it to me.

What do you think would be the best solution.

Thank you in advance.

Good luck to all of you.

as the immigrant you are required to notify USCIS within 10 days of moving your primary residence. the sponsor is required to notify them within 30 days.

You could just send the address change, with a letter to let them know that you will still attend your AOS interview as scheduled at the district office where you applied. Then follow up with them when you're there.

Hey Anutka,

We were exactly in the same situation.

My husband moved before me.

He flew in for the interview.

We didn't change the address, etc. because we said our old address

is his and my primary residence.

Don't change the address before you receive your greencard, it's my advice

and have it come to the address they have if possible.

That's my advice.

anutka,

As reba wrote, you are required to submit AR-11 reporting your change of address within 10 days of the change.

Note, however, that AR-11 does not update your address for any open cases that you may have - such as your adjustment application. You can handle that change as best suits your needs.

Thanks for your posts.

After calling USCIS infoline we know that in this circumstances we don't have to file change of address.

It's good. Less complicaations.

Good luck to all of you.

Hey all,

Hope you're all well. My wife and I moved into a new house last week, and I have submitted the AR-11s as well as contacting the USCIS by phone to notify them. Does my wife (as my primary sponsor) also need to report a change of address, or will the USCIS understand that we have moved together?

Thanks!
