Has anyone here taken their wedding dress on a plane?

My mom says most planes have a place where I can hang it or I have to lay it down in the overhead.

I'm just not sure if I have to claim it or it counts as my carry on.

It might depend on the airline. Have you booked tickets yet?

I havn't yet, but I know I'm going with AA.

I have a ticket from them I can use that I had from March.

I am excited because I am finalizing wedding plans. I've paid a deposit and so far this is what our wedding is going to look like:

Beach Wedding decorations

Double hearts before the altar (where we stand)

sandset.jpg

Sand Ceremony kit (if you look closely- you'll see maple leaves for Canada!) this is a picture from the website- not the one with our names and initials on it.

I also hired a steel drum band to play tropical style music (the school I work at- we have one of the best steel drum bands in the state, the kids play at Disney World and other big named places. Some of them have their own band that their mom manages so I hired them! lol)

This is a pic of steel drum players- but not the ones I am using:

I LOVE the double heart idea!

I've seen the sand ceremony before too, it's pretty cool.

It looks like an awesome wedding so far.

Cool! I take it you're having a few guests at yours? Ours is just us and our parents... NO decor or anything. :( Wish we could do one up like that! Maybe we'll draw some hearts though... *points to icon*. lol

We're just having like 20 people. My folks, his folks, his aunt and uncle . . . maybe his sister . . . maybe one of my sisters . . . one of his best friends and her hubby . . . a few of my co-workers.

I'm more interested in having a ceremony that is simple yet beautiful, memorable, and worth the trip from Canada to Florida for his family! The package I am getting includes a photographer and videographer because after the day is over I want something to remember it by!

Great news! Sean got his ring back! He thought he lost it at a washroom in a gas station. I told him to go back on the chance that an honest person found it. Well, it turns out a sweet little old lady found it (what was she doing in a man's washroom, eh?) and gave her name and number to the cashier. Sean called her and described the ring, and went and picked it up today.

So it's back on his hand where it belongs! Yay!!!

Just curious -- how come he wears his wedding band on his right hand?

I love your wedding pics, Minnew!

Glad your fiance found the ring, Arabella. The beach wedding looks awesome. I love love love that you've hired a steel drum band!!! Which beach are you getting married at?

We are getting married across the street from where I live in Cocoa Beach. I live off of A1A and the beach is right there.

Then we are going to have the reception at my house. The house I live in was my grandmother's (she passed away and now my mom owns it, but she lives down the street 5 houses with my dad!) and there is a lovely 600 sq ft room called a "Florida Room." It is circular, has windows that go from ceiling to almost the floor and overlooks the canal so it's really lovely. I have cleared most of the furniture out, and we are going to rent white tables and chairs and string up twinkle christmas- style white lights and do our own place settings on each table. We are going to have cake and champaign and either a buffet style dinner or light finger foods.

Sort of on topic-ish....

Have any of you guys had to "un-invite" someone from your wedding party?

Backstory: Spoom invited one of our close mutual friends to be one of his groomsmen. Since the invitation was accepted this guy has lived in 3 different states, has held (and lost) 3 different jobs and has no savings. He hasn't gotten fitted for his tux yet. The last time I talked to him for any length of time (his cell phone's been shut off most of the time recently) he told me he was considering moving across the country to be closer to his kid, and that he might be doing that before our wedding.

Obviously, this kind of "Will I be there, or won't I" is going to cause us more stress, but I feel really bad un-inviting him (from the bridal party, not the wedding). What's the best (nicest?) way to go about this?

Maybe you need to get a hold of him again and get a straight Yes/No answer out of him.

Tell him that you guys can't keep planning on hold for him, or something like that.

I mean, it's kind of rude for someone in your wedding party to not do what they're supposed to when you really need them to.

I on the other hand have no clue if I'm having bridesmaids. My one friend is in Canada and in University and my friend in the states is going back to school.
