Varba and I bought a LOT of on sale Halloween candy to have available for our guests at our reception :)

I'm going to Walmart today so I'm hoping so hard that there's still some decent on sale Halloween candy left.

I want some so bad.

Ooohh the wedding thread! I never noticed this before :P

Me and the hunny are having our wedding ceremony in Aug 13 2011 -- yeah it a long time away from now but that date is a Saturday and also our 6th year anniversary  The future WIL (witch-in-law) was supposed to get married this November, but when she heard about "our significant" date, she decided to change it to June so she can also marry on their "anniversary" too. Some people just have no originality.

I will have a better idea on when the legal wedding is when I get the passport/visa thing... it definitely will be this year. But right now, my mum and the MIL are planning a reception for this year's nuptial... All of a sudden, our original plan of just going to the nearest courthouse ourselves (MD does not require witnesses too), has now morphed into having 12 guests coming to the courthouse with us, a wedding cake, a pig roast, fondue and 60 people coming the Saturday of when we decide to get married for the "reception" :P AND Im not even in the planning committee

Finally married... and still married... ;)

We pretty much did the same thing to my sister. She had the civil ceremony at the courthouse, and then we all went to the ceremony in Ireland. (She lives in England.) She was just going to have her and the groom and their two friends to stand up for them until I got involved. We filled the courthouse and then came back to a major reception at her house. No way was I standing for that quiet-marriage #######!:blush:

I'm not really enthusiastic about the actual wedding, due to the craptasticness of this process. It makes me sad a little. :(

We were able to finally pick a date though (thanks P4!), so I've added them to the list. I italicized the ones that have already passed, just to make it a little separate.

Danu is still missing... not sure if she narrowed down a date, but she mentioned late January too... Danuuuuu?! lol

Haha, so many January weddings. So close together too.

I'm not really excited about my wedding. I think it's just a formality we need to get passed.

I'm doing it for my family anyway, I could honestly care less about a ceremony.

I didnt think I would be excited as I never thought Id marry, ever. But now I am getting married and Im actually really excited -- for both the legal and ceremonial events. I was looking at centerpieces and dresses, etc., and my sorority sister is doing our photos for a super awesome deal. Prolly a huge part of it is mine is so far away I have time to think about it and be really picky etc. The bad part is the future WIL is marrying next June so I cant tell anyone about my ideas because you know they will be stolen.

I guess it depends on the wedding situation. I'm not excited at the moment because I'm the one moving, and am dealing with my friends wanting to throw me a bachelorette party, but then having to move away from all those friends and not have any of them at my wedding. I also won't be able to have my brother, sister in law, nephew and niece at the wedding either... So despite it being on a beach and blah blah blah, this is not the wedding I wanted at all... so that makes me really sad that I can't share my day with the people I want to. I'm really glad our parents will be with us at least, and that we'll be able to get some good pics. :)

I'd like to just look at it as a quick little civil wedding, but I can't. We'll be MARRIED, and despite doing a renewal of vows in a year and a 1/2 or so (IF we can even afford it), it's just not the same. sigh. I dunno. :( I HATE this immigration stuff. hate hate hate.

I don't care about the wedding - at all. But it does miff me that, because it's going to be a small, intimate wedding, that my parents/sister don't seem to understand how important it would be to have them there. And my fiance doesn't seem to care whether or not his parents or siblings are there.

We aren't going to be able to afford some big party down the line, we aren't going to renew vows or anything else. Yes, it will probably be us standing in a park somewhere, but honestly...isn't that worth witnessing by our closest family?

Losing battle, I guess.

Our "big day" will probably be January 23rd, simply because I want to get my SSN out of the way first. I figure that'll be enough time. I hope.
