Oh yeah, some of the grooms men "kidnapped" Tim and I had to collect $250 in ransom money! They actually left and drove around town. We had just married flags in the windows of the limo. When they stopped at a red light, a guy did a double take to see two MEN in the back of a "just married" limo....

Ohhhhhhhhhh. Well that explains the two guys carrying him out. I was like..... "Oh. Well, maybe he's tired."

The officiant at our civil service took pics at several intervals throughout the proceedings, which was nice because we weren't expecting it. My husband had grabbed the disposal camera on our way out the door. Unfortunately, it was a disposable camera he had checked in his luggage on his last flight to my house. Never never never check your camera in your luggage. The high intensity x-ray ruins the film. Enough said. icon2.gif

Yeah the officiant we used actually offered photography packages with his services. We didn't use them since I had my sister doing the photos, but he offered them at a decent price. He said he normally has his wife do the pictures for private elopements. Maybe try and find someone who offers this kind of service? I think having some nice pictures of your special day are important, no matter how small or intimate it is.

question for you guys...

Don't you need to have a couple of witnesses present while you get married? not sure where you'll be getting married but we needed that here. I had my two best friends and their spouses at my wedding and my friend brought her camera and snapped a gazillion pics. Turned our really well.

So, if you need witnesses, maybe furnish one with a camera?

Good luck to you guys.

:D

Yeah, Florida doesn't require witnesses.. and our officiant is going to be one of his mother's employees. I guess he got his license for the fun of it and hasn't had a chance to marry anyone yet -- offered his services for free, haha.

Haven't figured out if we'll be having our immediate family present (as I want), if so, we can get them to... Or just ask our officiant, as you all requested.

Thanks! :)

I'm having a friend who does photography come in for it. Our wedding is going to be just us and our parents, but we want our parents to relax and enjoy the day, plus I'm also quite picky with photos  I want to make sure we get nice ones to show everyone who can't be there.

So this works out. We're just paying for her flight down, which isn't too bad.

For our civil ceremony, we just had his sister take photos. For our church wedding, we are hiring a professional.

In the state of Colorado you are allowed to marry yourself... Weird eh?

(when I say marry yourself, I mean you and your husband are allowed to sign your marriage license without having anyone else present to certify it, not that you are allowed to get married to yourself :P)

Oh and you can marry your second cousin but not someone of the same sex. Go figure.
