I like your hair!

My parents I think were suggesting something like that for my hair... they really insist that it should be partially down. "It's more romantic", and my face shape just isn't very nice with all my hair up.

Okay so I went to the wedding gown place.

They actually had a WHOLE section for Alfred Angelo, I was impressed.

They're in such a tiny town too.

My god, I never knew wedding dresses weighed so much! I couldn't even hold it up with one hand.

I only ended up trying on the one I wanted, another Alfred Angelo to compare "white" with "ivory" and I tried one one for the laughs that was on the poster above my dressing room.

I was quite impressed too, I thought my gut was going to stick out, but it didnt! I'll probably be wearing a corsete anyway.

My wedding dress has beading with the embroidery, which I wasn't too happy with, but there's no option to not have it unless I don't get the embroidery... and it really needs it.

I ended up picking Espresso and Ivory. I can't pull off pure white... not like I should be wearing it according to "tradition". :hehe:

I ended up getting a 16W in dress size. She had a hard time trying to figure out what to get me because my bust to waist mesurements are just too weird for their style's fit.

I ended up sucking in my gut for the measurements, though because of my weird measurements (I think they were 41, 37, 43) they HAVE to let the waist out in alterations or I would have had to get a size bigger and they would have had to do way too many other alterations. I also have to get the bust fixed so the top sits closer to my upper chest.

My dad didn't really seem too impressed with the price, and neither was I.

My fiance was quoted 499 but it was 750 DOLLARS!

Ouch. I guess I'll be skimping on other stuff. I feel bad for picking one that pricy... but I think they wanted to make sure I tried it on, got it, tried it on again and got alterations.

I'm not looking forward to taking it to the US with me, I feel like I'm going to be guarding it like hawk

Oh well, in about 14 weeks I'll be trying on my actual wedding dress.

Joyce- Beautiful wedding pictures! Everything looks so romantic and classy!

Glad you found your wedding dress Rhiann! I'm impressed you only tried on a couple and ended up with the one you saw online! Not a lot of people can pick out a dress off the internet and then have it actually suit their body type like that (I certainly failed at that!). And I think that's actually decent price for an Alfred Angelo, at least compared to the ones I tried on. When I went dress shopping they were all prices in the $800's.

My Alfred Angelo was only 650, but I got it at a discount store and when I tried it on last week I almost cried cause I noticed a bead was missing. This was after the whole fake interview thing, so I was pretty emotional.

Another awesome score on my part:

My mom called today to see if they could put a rush on it due to getting my interview so fast, and the person on the other side said she had called my house phone earlier.

Turns out they have the EXACT dress I want in my size in the colours I want in their stockroom!

I'll be getting it in 2 weeks instead of 14 :P

You know what was really funny about our wedding? So many people came up to the table to congratulate us, and talk, so we didn't get to eat hardly anything! We were so hungry when we left the reception that we went through the drive thru at Wendy's before we headed out of town!

My boss just told me that if I handle my dress too much I'm going to get yellow spots on it. Is this true? I take it out every maybe 4 months to try it on and see if it fits better... Now I'm worried.

I'm sure it's possible, but if you wash you hands or do it right after you shower (to avoid getting an oils/dirt on it) then I'm sure it's fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas about bridal lingerie or corsets?

I don't know where to look, and I kind of sucked in my gut for my fitting so I'm going to need a corset.

I live in a town with nothing lingerie related store wise, and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what stores are good at all.
