So, my parents want to have a "weding party" in Arizona in April... kind of like a second reception. Should I let my mom do all of the planning, as it is "her" party or should I plan it, since it is like a 2nd reception. I almost don't care, but I'm afraid if I don't care, then there's going to be something I'm not real crazy about... and I suck at hiding my feelings when there's something I'm not really crazy about.

Does it seem like she wants to take reigns and handle everything.... If it were me, I'd want her to take over as I really don't like party planning  even this wedding planning stuff, I'm so over it

You already had a reception and she wants to have another one? I would let her plan it but make sure the emphasis isn't on you guys, so then you don't have to worry about how it turns out.

Aw, I feel so special :)

We have a staff exchange program going on with the Certified General Accountants of China and right now we have a girl named Yasmine over. I really like Yasmine, I showed her around town when she moved n stuff.

I decided to invite her to my bridal shower (which is at the end of the month) and told her she didn't have to bring a gift.

She just came into my office and told me she wants to buy me a traditional Chinese wedding dress for my shower. They're apparently not that expensive. She's so awesome :luv:

That is really sweet and thoughtful. I love people like that. They make the world a better place.

Well, if they are hosting it in your honor, then you should just let them plan it. Have the invites reflect them as the hosts.

I have been really into researching invites lately. I think I've changed my mind from doing letterpress to just printing them ourselves and do the pocketfold ones. We'll see how I feel in a couple of months, LOL. At least I know I have options!

awww that's cute! I love Chinese dresses, they're so feminine.

It it were me I'd let her plan it... mostly because I'm so over the whole wedding planning thing. I did it once and that's enough!

I'm thinking about getting one for the wedding dinner, since I'm marrying into a Chinese family

Well, Taiwanese if you want to be technical.
