Interesting how the pastor wants you to attend his church after he marries you... I guess a church IS a business if you think about it.

I think he thinks we'd just be using him? My fiance also mentioned that he "attends more frequently" another church, and the Pastor asked him to ask that pastor to marry us... but I don't want to get married in a gym and I like pastor Kyle. Varba hasn't attended that church in almost 2 years... Pretty sure my email changed his mind :)

I'll always find it interesting how the church thing works, for some reason.

I wouldn't get married in a church.... I don't attend church, never have, and would feel almost fake getting married in a church in front of "god" when I don't have those beliefs. Ours is going to be a non-denominational ceremony outdoors. Luckily my husband's family is supportive, since they are Catholic and all.

I am getting really excited about the details of our wedding.

We're doing a photobooth save the date, so we need to go take some photos soon so we can create one and send it out. I'm thinking we will send it out by the end of October.

I've also decided that I definitely want letterpress invites, so I just need to convince my hubs that they are worth it. I'm going to order a bunch of samples so that I can show him the differences between regular printing and letterpress

Peachey - If you don't mind me asking, what was included in your $1500 quote? I'm looking to spend $3000, but I feel like that might be a little low for what I need. It would be nice to compare with someone.

I can't wait to go dress shopping again! I'm not going until December, but I know exactly what I want, so hopefully I will find it!

We wanted to do the photobooth ones, but just settled with photobooth drawings instead!!

We are making our own bouquets so we are going to be spending prob $300-500 on flowers. Our centerpieces are going to look like this

nedi8o.jpg

But in our colors (so pink ect..) I think they are like $10ish each (x 16 tables..ack!) so we figure it'll be a lot cheaper then having to do full out centerpieces (before I wanted 6-7 gerbers per table...SO expensive)

Oh and letterpress invites are amazing but I can't spend that much on invites. My hubby (and parents) will kill me!

You might want to talk about it before kids... just a suggestion. Get it out of the way so that when you have children you won't be arguing on like no sleep :)

Nah. It's a choice that the hubby and I made.

We don't feel like it's any of either of our families business to be included in it.

They can either accept it, or not. But either way it's a choice we've made and we won't change our minds :)

Haha, no way, I'm not going to Kleinfeld's! Mostly because their dresses are out of my budget. I want to stay in the $1500-$2000 range and their dresses are a lot more than that. Plus, I really want to buy my dress in Toronto so I dont' have to travel with it.

Letter press invites looks like this: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listi...sc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title

The text is pressed into the paper, instead of being flat or raised. It's quite pricey, but I really love the preppy look and feel. I'm hoping to find some for $4/each or less - but that hasn't been easy. They are generally in the $8-10/each range, which is too much for me.

Okay that's not bad at all. I am thinking that a florist should probably be able to work with my budget. I already know I'd like to spend around $300 for my bouquet (I want orchids and callallilies, so I figure that'll be a lot) and then I'm open to a mix for all the other flowers... so I'm thinking that it should work. Thanks, this is a good comparison!

I've actually done extensive research on them since I want them so badly. The cheapest I found them is on Etsy. There is also a printing press that does them pretty cheap, but I need to have the actual text designed first, so that might end up increasing the cost so I'm going to go with an Etsy seller. My inital budget was around $300 for invites, but I'm thinking about seeing if i can swing $500-$600 so that I can get exactly what I want.

I'm turning into a Bridezilla, I swear, haha. I want everything to be perfect and what I envision in my head. I refuse to compromise... hahaha (although I know I will have too because I'm not made of money).

Ditto. I'm an atheist and hubby is agnostic!

However his family is pretty religious and not impressed (another reason they don't like me. They think I'm using my devil ways to bring him to the dark side)

Thankfully my fiance and I are on the same page about this too.

He's Christian (Did I spell that right?) and I'm not religious.

Baptisms are done at the person's will in Christianity, not done when they're young and have no choice.

We're also not getting married in a church either nor by a pastor.

I'm still considering a wedding on the Queen Mary though, get married by the captain instead.
