Oh that would be cool Sapphire!! I had a problem finding Asian parasols in the right color, so we decided to go with white lace ones. What are your wedding colors? It took me forever to find a blue I really liked, but I fell in love with that light aqua shade! Thanks! :)

I'm doing navy bridesmaid dresses and yellow/off-white flowers. I'm going to do my invites, linens and programs etc. with Ivory/Gold/Navy and then.

I plan to add a hint of fuschia, deep orange and white to my flowers with the yellow.

I also plan to get my girls pashminas in different colours (orange, fuschia, light yellow, golden yellow, champagne, ivory, light beigey gold) and then various coloured umbrellas...

I'd also like to incorporate striped grosgrain ribbons in navy/white and pink/orange/yellow to add a preppy look.

I hope it call comes together... in my mind it seems fabulous, LOL.

It sounds fabulous to me too! Sounds very contemporary.

Argh, I hate when my computer is rude to me! We want to see more pictures Chadlaure!

Thanks everyone!!!!!

The castle behind is the henderson castle. It's in Kalamazoo, 2 hours from Detroit, and they have pretty gardens :)

That's weird! I was watching House Hunters International last night and they were profiling the guy who owned that house. He's a lawyer who had been using it as a B&B and was selling it to buy a condo in Buenos Aires. The place he picked was abandoned during a renovation so he picked it up for 143k. He completed the renovation but his design sense was a little lacking. He would have benefitted from the advice of an interior designer.

So tonight I'm going with the future MIL to the Alfred Angelo sale. I hope to find something neat :)

I can't go look at my dress that I want from Alfred Angelo till I get to California.

There's a retailer near me, but they said they don't carry any of them in stock :(

Though, I'd rather go to their store anyway... I'm sure the dresses are cheaper in the US, even with the exchange rate.

I've found the pricing to be comparable. Slightly cheaper in the US if you factor in tax I guess. Just be sure to factor in fittings. I'm getting my dress in Toronto because I don't want to have to bring it with me from NYC to Toronto. BUT, arranging for the fittings is going to be an absolute pain, I do plan to visit, so it should work out in the end.

Thanks Trailmix! :)

I love House Hunters! Real estate shows fascinate me. I don't even know why, I don't even own a house...

Good luck dress shopping Peachey! I tried on some Alfred Angelo's when I was hunting and he has some really nice stuff!

I know what you mean about the dress fitting Sapphire! It was a pain. I bought my dress down here in Denver for the same reason, I didn't want to worry about trying to ship it down with me. When they finished with the final alterations I had to go get my SIL to pick the dress up, since I had already gone back home after a visit. The alterations lady tried to force her to try on the dress! She was from somewhere in eastern Europe and her English wasn't the best. My SIL tried to explain over and over again that it wasn't her's, then she freaked out because the bride wasn't there to approve everything. My goodness! I told them I was going to be gone and they said that was perfectly fine. Thankfully they let her take it after some arguing... the dress wouldn't have fit her, it would have been a big alterations mess

Speaking of alterations...Went to pick up my dress today! When I put on the veil I cried! It looks so gorgeous now that it fits properly! The seamstress who we have been going to for years only charged us $160! I was in shock! I am sure with all the work she had to do in the city it would have cost us at least $500! Including a bustle! That was including my sisters bridesmaid dress and my mom's MOH dress. When we got home I realized that i needed an extra hook in the back because when i put my arms up in the air, the dress slowly slid down and it would have been a Janet Jackson moment the more I moved around! So mom sewed on an extra hook that made the dress fit perfectly....cuz I have like no boobs.... I'm sure DB would have charged waaay more!

Went to the Alfred Angelo store. I asked them if they could do the alterations on my dress since it's an Alfred Angelo and the lady asked if I bought it at an actual Alfred Angelo store and I said "Well, no you don't have them in Canada, but your website lists them as a partner store" and she said "Sorry, we can't". Then I said "Well you know I would pay you n stuff" and she said "I really wish I could help you, but we can't".

So then I tried on some Bridesmaid dresses for my bridesmaids :D

This one looked the best on me http://s7d4.scene7.com/ir/render/AlfredAng...n&sharpen=1
