i'm talking about this one https://www.pamperedchef.com/ordering/prod_...ds=can%20opener (L)

It cuts it just under the ridge of the top of the can along the side, instead of within the top, so that you can use the cut off part as a lid after... uh.. if that even make sense. LOL Either way :thumb:!!

I don't have the can opener that you linked too, but I'm developing carpel tunnel I think, so I should... lol I do have the jar opener though.

Oh, okay. Yes, those types of openers are really good. The Easy Opener is excellent for people with arthritis and for those who don't like their nails snapping off when they open a can of pop. Plus it's great for unsealing jars and opening up bottles. A really handy tool all around, I must say.

Why would you use it for a lid after, since you can't store things in an opened can? I don't understandddddd

krikit, you are 'the crazy appliance lady' now.

Its for if you like...open a can of stew and only use half, you can just put the lid back on. Don't want to leave it sitting too long of course or it goes tinny tasting but if you eat the other half the next day, saves having to have a container to put the other half in.

but can't think of anywhere in the US that I'd want to go before I get my AP to travel elsewhere. lol

Oh! Speaking of which! On your website it had a poll. I wanted to say that a train trip across Canada would be totally awesome! But maybe as a 10 year anniversary trip or something. For a honemoon I would absolutely recommend Europe.

haha cool :D Thanks! I'd love to go to Europe. i'm hoping we can make it work, even if it's a slightly delayed honeymoon. lol

As for appliances... are any of you familiar with Pampered Chef?!?! Well, they do 'gadgets' and cookware I'd say, more than appliances, but MAN their stuff rocks!! I (L) their can opener!

I voted for Europe too! While a train trip would be beautiful, probably not that romantic... have you seen the sleeper cars!?

I like Pampered Chef, but I find them to be too expensive.

My mom bought a small stone baking tray from them and it was like 30 dollars.

And she doesn't eve use it!

I use it

And I'm not sure what to do about gifts.

I was thinking about doing the registry at Target, but then everyone would have to buy stuff when they get to the US... which might be easier.

Tabletop mixer in the carry on luggage anyone?

I'm doing a registry at Bed Bath and Beyond for the US guests... I know alot of people prefer to bring a gift, so I figured may as well pick out stuff we want. The Canadian guests I presume will likely bring cash, I'm not mentioning it though. If they don't bring anything, that's fine too! They are spending enough to come to my wedding

That's funny! She should have worn a bathing suit standing so close to the water like that!

This one is probably making it's way around. Tim and I saw it yesterday and laughed!! One of the best I've seen.

I've seen that video! I feel so bad for her. I would probably just cry! I hope they did pre-ceremony photos

I was reading all the comments about gifts and household appliances... We made a registry, simply because everyone was asking what to get us and I a. felt bad asking for cash, and b. didn't want people to feel like they had to give a lot of cash. I got some really nice stuff, a slow cooker, blender, toaster, some baking trays and things like that... but they're all just sitting in our room in a pile! I don't have my own kitchen yet, so what do I do with everything in the meantime? It feels like a waste. The best gift was the Dyson vacuum I put on there and figured nobody would buy me. Its pretty sweet.

Just keep it in boxes until you get your own place I suppose.... Even the stuff we get, I won't open until we buy our house. I have alot of stuff as it is from my old apartment, and this place is too small with not alot of storage. So even if it sits in the attic for a few months, at least when we get our house I'll have all this new stuff to open!!
