Thanks! There's so much to do. At least we have our hall and caterer.

Still need a DJ, the pastor to say ok he'll marry us (LOL!) my fiance emailed him yesterday, a bartender... Those are pretty much the big things we have left.

I got our photographer and video last time I was down. The photographer is just going to give me all the "negatives". I'm pretty good with photoshop, so I can make my own albums :)

I have an appointment for flowers and cake testing when I got down to visit in September.

We are actually doing some pre-marital counseling when I'm down next month... scary!

You are way more organized than I was! Last time I went down we had to scout out venues, and we also arranged for premarital counselling...it was more like a fun conversation, our pastor was so laid back. At one point Brad had me crying some of the stuff he was saying I had never heard him really vocalize until that day..I knew he felt that way, just its nice to hear it, It was so sweet and endearing. I wish I would have had time to book cake testing, meet with photographers and DJ's....there just wasn't enough time cuz I was also getting stuff ready the for interview, as we just got our NOA2 before I flew to Omaha. I did scout out a place for the cake and looked through their book, but thats about it, the rest is all other peoples reviews on stuff from various websites such as theknot.com, which of course is risky, but so far its worked out okay...i'll let u know if it doesn't...lol.

I just want to get all the big stuff done before I move and then when I move and can't work I'll make the bonbonieres and bows for the church pews, all the little details.

My bridesmaids don't have dresses yet.. LOL my maid of honor is preggers and we don't know what size she'll be for the wedding, so we're waiting till March.

Ooh, that's a Alfred Angelo dress!

I love their dress designs and the prices are pretty reasonable.

I'm getting one from their line with colours in it.

It's really pretty, the one you picked.

I saw the dress you picked, it's really nice too. My brother's fiancee wants it in red. They'll never get married tho lol.

Congrats Peachey! The dress and the save the dates are great! I tried on some Alfred Angelo dresses and almost bought one until I decided to go with a DB dress. Alfred makes some really nice dresses! We did the same thing music wise. We hired a violinist to play at the ceremony and had a DJ at the reception, it worked out really well! The DJ we had was fantastic, he really ran the show perfectly and played some really good music.

The one I want looks SO good in black, but I could never pull black off.

And Huggle, you missed my wedding date in that batch

It's gonna be May 15th 2010 whether my parents like it or not.

Yeah, May 15th 2010 is just ceremonial unless my visa decides to take forever then it'll be the legal one too.

Hoping it'll just be the ceremonial though.

Parents still insist on being there for the signing of the "Piece of paper" though.

Oh well, they can fly down twice in 6 months then

cuz I don't know when I will get down there...and don't know when I will be able to get a job and I felt guilty about setting a date then when we don't know about our finances so I decided its just easier to wait another 1/2 a year for the bigger one and get what I actually want instead of cutting corners.

Sorry to hear you're postponing your big celebration Danu... We've decided to do the same thing though. lol. We are going to have our celebration in Canada in 2011 now, instead of 2010. It just was too much to deal with at the same time as moving and immigration, and we can barely afford that, so we were really cutting corners on our reception plans and it was bothering me. So we're going to do a renewal of vows so friends/family can have a little ceremony to view themselves, then we'll do a reception afterwards. Then we'll have time to save up, and really think about what we want to do. I don't really like having to do everything myself, and that's how it was getting!

Even now, I'm currently in California visiting my fiance, and we haven't accomplished anything wedding related, except a possibly ceremony site. :( I leave in a week to go back to Canada, and we probably won't be any further ahead in planning! We don't have a photographer, haven't looked at wedding rings, haven't shopped with him to give him an idea of what to wear, haven't found an officiant.... blah I think I'm going to end up moving only about 10-12 days before the ceremony too, so it's gonna feel rushy!

I haven't even looked at a single thing regarding wedding planning.

Except the dress and the cake.

I didn't even really want to have a ceremony wedding, I'm mostly doing it for my family.

So needless to say, I'm kind of counting on my mom for alot of this.

I have 3 wedding planning books though, so I'll probably start looking into stuff through that when I get to the US or so.

My mom and dad got married 3ish months after getting engaged, so she seems to have quite a bit of knowledge about short planned weddings
