I am wearing flats, I am only about 2 inches shorter than my fiance and I do not want to be taller than him in pictures! So I got these cute little flats (well they have like a 1/4 inch heal). No one is going to see my feet so I am fine with the shoes I bought. They are cute white with some sparkles on the top :)

Cute! I'm 10 inches shorter than my fiance, so the heels are a necessity :lol:

I'm about 2" or so taller than Tim!! Neither one of us mind, AND he loves it when I wear heels!! So I'd like to find some shoes with modest heels. Although if I find some nice flats that will be ok too. I'll be wearing a lavender dress. Not sure the best colour to go with that. My brides maids are wearing dark purple with silver shoes, the guys are all wearing gray suits...This will be an interesting search.. :unsure:

In Toronto, a DJ can cost anywhere from $800-$3000 depending on what kind of package you want. The 'in-house' DJ at our hall is $1400 for the cheapest package, but I'm going to ask for no dry-ice for our first dance, and so I'm hoping they will knock it down a bit.

It gets expensive when you want lights and such.

Ours is a little under $900 and we're getting a DJ for the reception and a violinist for the ceremony with that. Shop around a little! At first, I thought I was going to have to spend $1,500 or more for both and even had a contract ready to sign until I stumbled upon someone better. DJ's are rediculously good at making you believe you're getting a good deal... I found them the slyest of all the wedding vendors! :lol:

I think that's what I'm going to do, but then again I have some friends who have DJed before, and I know they would totally be able to handle it properly. lol .... then again we're also not really going for the typical reception either, but we ARE still having dancing and what not :)

You could still rent the equipment anyways and have it run off a computer. It'd probably be cheaper. But yeah, if you wouldn't trust your friends to do it, i'd go with a professional.. :lol:

That is a very pretty dress Ashen. Did you try it on in person? When I went to try on dresses in person I was so shocked at what I thought I wanted vs. what I ended up looking amazing in. Check out a bridal salon if you can and try on a gazillion dresses, it's so much fun and they really put all the elements of a dress that you like together and find you the dress you will look amazing in!

Right now I am searching for invitations and haven't found the perfect ones yet. I just know I want yellow font letterpress with some sort of navy detail. I'm debating between a monogram, damask or something more whimsical like flowers... I really want the invites to set the tone for the wedding... so I feel like they need to be perfect!

Also debating doing Save the Dates to match... hmmm...decisions
