Yeah I definitely said no to the bachelorette party then everyone got really upset, especially my MOH. So I gave in and said OK, but I said no strippers and no crowns! I got away without the strippers but I couldn't get out of the tiara. I believe my friend Liz said, "you said no crowns, its not a crown its a tiara!" So make sure you are really specific with your friends! I took the crown off several times but I kept getting yelled at. All in all, It was a very fun night! We went to the Fallsview casino and a couple bars inside. I'm not a drinker at all but everyone kept buying me drinks! It got a little out of hand. When someone brings you a drink you can't really say no...

 nice! My friend kept saying, "when are we going to Peppermints!?" as a joke. I had to put my foot down. I joke around about sex all the time but I just know my face would turn beat red and I'd be so awkward in that place.

LOL Huggle, a couple years ago we made a friend of mine dress up like that for her bachelorette party. We did a bar crawl and in one of the bars we walked past a group of girls, and overheard one of them say to the other "I'd totally make you dress like that" HAHAH

Okay, so I have to share this with someone, b/c the people I'd call all have kids and are in bed by now and... well... VJ never goes to sleep. :)

I went for my first "formal" wedding dress fitting earlier today. My veil and headpiece had finally come in, so I asked if I could try those on too. Just before going to the bridal shop, my MoH and I stopped to buy undergarments for the dress fittings. Anyway, I got all prepared to put the dress on... pulled the dress up, had the veil and headpiece in one hand, and my train in the other hand (it is removaable). The seamstress helped zip me up, and then I put my veil put on (without any fuss, too!). I walked out and stood on the little stnad thingy so she could check the bottom hem and then it happened.

My MoH came walking over in her dress, my dress had zipped up like a charm... and it hit me. Something I hadn't experienced ever before. They say it happens to everyone, but it hadn't ever happened to me until today.

I cried when I took a moment to see myself in my wedding dress. The weight I've lost since the last time I tried on the dress (I gained a bunch of weight over the winter and last time I tried on the dress I was in tears b/c of how horrible I looked/felt) made the dress fit nicely. I think I weigh even less than I did when we bought the dress last August. But that isn't the issue.

People say that you cry when you try on the perfect dress. I hadn't cried at all -- not even a random tear, until today. So, I guess I have found my perfect dress. I can't wait for my fiance' to see me in the dress... if I think I looked nice, he's gonna keel over. lol

Anyway......... just had to share with someone. Perhaps I'll share a part of a picture as to why I was so happy (if there is a pic from today that shows what I want to show/can show). ;)

Awww July that's so touching!! I never cried when I had the dress on, but I'm not a crier at all. Instead, I started hoping around and twirling like I was in a Disney movie and I didn't want to walk away from the mirror

I'm concerned that I had to dress fitted to early and now It won't fit properly. Everyone and their mother have been taking me out to dinners, lunches, late night drinks, movies with all you can eat popcorn... the list goes on. But I was told I couldn't have it fitted after the move and that there wouldn't be enough time, so my fingers are crossed. Maybe when I get there and put it on again I'll have that "moment." I'll keep you posted! Meanwhile... Picturessss?!

I also haven't had that "moment". Ok well I did, I just did not cry! When I went to DB to try on dresses, or shall I say 1 dress, I knew automatically that the dress was perfect! It was the first and last one that I tried on at DB! I only started tearing up after she put on my veil and was talking to me about a blusher veil tradition and giving the blusher veil to my father to put on my first born's bassonette.

I can't wait to see my fiance's face when I walk down the aisle in my dress, I am hoping at least to get a few tears out of him. :P I have never seen him "cry" just get "teary eyed", in his words.

All this talk about wedding dresses makes me wonder, are you all planning on keeping your dresses? I know it's trendy to pay a fortune at the dry cleaners to get it cleaned and boxed in acid free materials and I've always wondered why. You don't wear it again and any daughters you have probably won't want to wear it.

The tradition in my family is totally different. We make the dress into christening gowns for our children. My grandmother made one out of Mom's dress for me. It's hand smocked and embroidered. If all goes as planned, it will be the dress our first child wears. I'll do the same with my dress for our second. It helps that I love sewing and embroidery.

DB tried to sell me one of those preservation kits, but at the time I was undecided and I still am. My mother kept her gown and I did try it on when I first got engaged, it is a really nice gown for the time period that she got married, she did not get it preserved though and the material looks faded. As far as I know there is no tradition for the wedding gown in my family, but what your doing sounds like a really good tradition to start! I unfortunately cannot sew but I sure could learn!

A friend of mine hung her dress up in her bedroom, from the ceiling. She did it like a half canopy over the bed. Hard to explain how it looks, but it was quite tasteful.

not sure what I'll do with mine. It won't look like a "wedding" gown, and it's lavender in colour, but I thought I may display it in the living room or something. With some pic's around it of course.

That sucks July! I will have to check the board throughout the day! (not like I don't already...)

I'm not positive what I will do with the dress but I'm almost certain I will keep it. I'm a pack rat and It would be hard to part with it. I don't really care if my children wear it at their wedding, or if it ever gets used, it just seems like something that I'd want to hang on to! The christening gown is a cute idea, but not suitable for me personally. I could try to sell it on ebay but that always seems so sad... I dunno why.
