Thanks, I want to go with the complete princess effect  I'm not going to want to take any of it off ever. I have my hairstyle picked already too.

https://www.liweddings.com/chat/p/2718449_1.jpg

That, but without the flowers.

I love that hairstyle..

I wanted something like that for my wedding but the lady who did my hair curled it to tight and seemed to use a couple cans of hairspray :P I felt like I was wearing a helmet.. it took 2 or 3 shampoos before the hairspray all came out ...lol it doesn't look bad in the pics though but it really wasn't the style I wanted but at the time I didn't think I could say anything because a friend paid for it as their wedding gift to me...

Oooh, that much hairspray must have been a nightmare! Could you even get your hands into your hair for the first shampoo? *funny conjured images of you with your fingers stuck in the curls*

not really ...

she would wrap my hair around the curling iron and then give it a good spray of hairspray and then she would spray again after she took the hair off the curling iron...

Oh dear. Did she destroy some of your hair in the process? I think I would have freaked out.

I had my second dress fitting yesterday. The seamstress asked if we'd set a date yet, and I said no, we're still waiting for Dave's visa... She said because I'd lost weight, she already has to take the dress apart again to fit it, and if I lose more weight she'd have to do that again and charge me more. So she's not going to do anything with it for now and I'm to call her for an appointment 3 weeks before the wedding. I got the dress to fit me as-is, I was happy with my size for the wedding, then I ended up getting sick so the weight loss was unintentional. But now I don't have the dress to show my MoH when she comes to visit next weekend, pooh!

Instead of the hotel or banquet hall, we're having the ceremony in my parents' great room, and the reception at a restaurant. After we decided that, and I realised we didn't have to go with the "package" vendors of our previous first choice venue, I was like "Yay! We don't have to have an ugly cake!" xD

Something old: my grandmother's wedding ring on my right hand

Something new: just about everything (I'll say boots, because they were made last)

Something blue: lapis lazuli in headpiece

Something borrowed... o_o I don't want to wear a necklace because it would detract from the headpiece. I already have earrings, and don't borrow cosmetics. No clue what to borrow from a happily married woman, LOL. Any ideas? ^^

I know you're suppose to "wear" what you borrowed, but I borrowed my MIL's mom's bible to have up at the alter. So I had something borrowed and old at the same time. When I asked my MIL about it, she cried... but a good cry.

What about a nice anklet? Maybe some nail polish to put on your toes?

People here are so smart and let me know that Canada has "permanent" postage just like the "forever" stamps here in the US!! I wanted to share what I found in my postage research!

<a href="http://www.shopcanadapost.ca/" target="_blank">Here</a>, you can find "Celebration" stamps that are permanent (P rate) of $.54 each. They're really cute! <img src="http://www.visajourney.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> But, those will only work within Canada. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

But, for postage from Canada to the US it is $.98 each. So, for our return postcards, it is almost a dollar. Wow... how about email or the phone??? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> (KIDDING... my mother would shoot me over that one! She's already having a hard enough time with me wanting to be more modern, than traditional!) Not sure what the weight/size limit is on that.

Postage from the US to Canada, that's a whole other ball of wax. Postage is going up as of May 11. And, every May will be when they make their rate adjustments. <a href="http://www.usps.com/prices/pricechanges.htm?from=prices&page=newshippingprices" target="_blank">USPS Site</a> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/headbonk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bonk:" border="0" alt="headbonk.gif" />

Now, for mail to go to Canada prior to May 11, the rate is $.72. That is based on a "regular" letter size & weight. Regular refers to the average piece of paper and assumes there is no more than 7 sheets of paper inside the envelope. After May 11, the rate will go to $.75 for a "regular" envelope. <a href="http://www.stamps.com/usps/postage-rate-increase/" target="_blank">Stamps.com Info</a>

Hope this info can help someone out there! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

What we are going to do (so that it's cheapest) is for all the CDN guests we will mail their invites from within Canada and then all the US invites will be mailed from within the US, that way we dont have to deal with the internationall stamp cost. As for teh replies, same thing will go, all CDN replies to CDN address (I live in teh same house as my MOH so even if I'm gone she will get them) and the US guests will reply to teh US address.

somehow my post was not posted to teh right topic/thread....?!?!? sorry

Make sure you weigh and measure your invite accordingly for both countries. Our invitations actually ended up being cheaper to send all (even to Canada) from the US. It was $61 cents US for all the US addresses and $1 for all the Canadian addresses. In Canada, the postage to send to a CDN address was actually $1.30 or something and over $2 for US addresses because Canada qualified our envelope as a large size and in the US it was regular size. For responses, we sent everything to Canada because the majority of our envelopes would be coming from Canada (so it was around 52 cents) and then the US guest returns were 75 cents, as opposed to sending to a US address for 42 cents.

We also had our return envelopes printed professionally and they would only do one address, so I couldn't do part to one country and the other part to another country.

Overall I'd say we probably spent maybe $20 more because of the country differences. Not too bad.

Aww, that's really sweet, Peachey!

Hmm, I suppose a bracelet or hidden pin or nail polish could work. Thanks for the ideas! :)

:crying: The beading is like...falling off. And the front is all squished funny...I have an appointment to take it back in tomorrow to get it sorted out. Thankfully the ppl at this store seemed really nice and helpful, so I'm hoping tomorrow continues that trend.

The wedding's over! It was amazing. Here is a picture of the bride (my daughter) and my parents. Haven't had any time to look at any other pictures. On the drive back to the US yesterday we got a call that my husband's cousin had passed, so we're on our way to the funeral in NC now. Funny that. I've been to two weddings and a funeral. No sign of Hugh Grant, though. :P
