My invitations shipped today! I can't wait to receive them. My fiance' is wanting to address them all by hand! At least we got some cool return address labels. Based on the weight of the package, it will hopefully be less than 1 oz for each invite. I really don't want to use "extra" postage!

Our invitations arrived yesterday. They are beautiful. I need to take them to the post office to make sure we don't have to pay extra for the size of the envelope. It was exactly an ounce with all the enclosures so I am hoping for the 44 cent stamp in U.S. and the 57 cent stamp in Canada.

Someone give me a gold star! I've read through this entire thread, LOL!

To jump in late on topics previously discussed...

In lieu of premarital counseling, my parents bought Dave and me each a copy of the book 1001 Questions to Ask Before You Get Married by Monica Mendez Leahy. We talk on Ventrilo at least a few hours every night, so we're going through that book as we feel like it, and it's pretty neat, brings up a range of topics we might not have thought to discuss on our own.

We're not doing the garter thing or the cake smushing either. x)

Dave is 11 inches taller than me, and I really don't care if I look hella short next to him in pics. I was initially thinking to wear shoes with a little heel, that I could take off easily for dancing... then read on some etiquette site that everyone at the head table should keep their shoes on for the entire celebration! >_< I thought, if I'm to keep my footwear on the whole day, I should wear something comfortable, and I'm most comfortable in boots, so I ordered these! :) They haven't arrived yet.. hope they fit! *crosses fingers* :}

You're supposed to keep your footwear on?

I had mine off the whole dinner, since the floor was carpet, and I was wearing socks.

Yeah I took my shoes off too! I wore them for dinner and the first dance, then they were so gone! My dress was long enough you couldn't tell, so we can have this be our little VJ secret :innocent:

Those boots are really cute though Kukolka! Very original and sweet :)

I never actually danced with my husband or my dad.

I wonder what my dad thinks of that... huh.

I had really high heels (I wanted to add some height).

Wore them through the whole ceremony & when taking pictures indoor & outdoor.

But as soon as we got to the reception, those babies were off!

I bought this book and hubby and I went through it together, before we decided to make our engagement official! It's a good, insightful book and opened conversations that we probably would have not discussed. My favorite part is the "chores" list, and after answering it, hubby went "why do I have more chores than you?" I shrugged and to this day, he still does :P

I have an appointment with a local David's Bridal store tomorrow! It is super early to even consider wedding gowns as my event is next year August, but at the bridal show I attended in February, a David's Bridal rep gave me a 50 dollar coupon towards a gown, if I made an appointment with them by April. So I did! And I am excited! Peachey is coming down with me too! (YAY!!!)

I bought my wedding dress on June 13th of last year. I went the day I came home from my first visit to Canada, found my perfect dress and then found out a few days later that they were discontinuing the style so I had to buy it. :)

David's Bridal seems so popular.

Crazy.

I still haven't gotten my wedding dress cleaned, I really really need to do that soon. It's sort of expensive too, like 125 dollars in this area. I just hope I can fit in it again one day for a vow renewal, haha.

If you don't have the money to clean your dress and you don't want to keep it but you don't want to throw it out, there's a charity that accepts used wedding gowns and uses the fabric to line the caskets of still-born babies.

I'll get the name of the charity from my SIL if anyone is interested.

I think we're able to afford it with this check we got from EDD. It has a few make up stains and dirt stains, haha. I hope that's cleanable after almost 2 months... egh.
