I mean, there's nothing more romantic than a full pig on a spit. Head and all.

My dress came from Davids Bridal! When I was looking online I saw the dress, but the model they put into it just looked so awful that I thought the dress was awful. Until I put it on and my mom and other girls moms started to cry. A bunch of those other women came over and hugged my mommy and kept telling her that she's not losing a daughter and that the dress was made for me, etc. It was VERY emotional.

Alfred Angelo also has some very, very gorgeous dresses!!!

I'm currently in love (online) with 3 dresses. I really want to try them on.

The first and last one I love because I loooooove organza and I tried on a dress similar to them and it looked so pretty on me. I love the side drape on the 2nd one and how the thing goes around the hip, I think it would help to make me look a bit slimmer.

The first one kinda looks like mine, except that mine is Satin on the bottom, not organza!

My wedding wedding is soon. I think this afternoon i'm going shopping for stuff.

^^ That is so exciting Peachy!

I first went shopping in March 2009 and loved this one dress. I was worried that it wouldn't be available when it came time to order, but I decided to hold out anyways.

Well, I went shopping Feb 2010 and the dress that I liked from before wasn't available, well it was, but the store I went to didn't have it. I ended up trying on a whole bunch of different dresses and ended up with a completely different style than what I had originally planned on but I am SO HAPPY that I waited. I think my dress is going to be perfect and I'm so glad I tried on many different styles.

Now my only issue is that I think it's going to be a size or two too big since I was kind of heavy when I bought it and I've already started to slim down a bit. Oh well! Alterations should do the trick!

Thats why I dont want to commit to any dress until maybe late this year -- because by then the styles would be different. Also, I dont know if its worth waiting even until spring as I have a summer wedding and I want to have more a summer style dress. I go from loving a full ball gown, to loving a trumpet style to loving just a simple dress like the one I put up.

I definitely just have to wait and be patient!

And it is soo exciting to plan for the wedding. I didnt think Id be excited but I really really am! We've decided on a menu yesterday (appetizers and dessert and all). I think there will be sooo much food so we're gonna hold off on the pig roast, but rather have a Fil-Am brunch the next day (Sapphire, Im sure your hubby knows what Im talking about!) and we'll have all the out of town guests and the closest family relatives over to open gifts and just party... after the party!

Finally married... and still married... ;)

This is the dress I am currently in love with! Its super simple but I love the softness of the dress and the back part. I have fallen in love with other dresses before but this is my current love right now!

That dress would look hot on you Francis! I love it!

Hey Sapphire- way better to make the dress smaller than to try and make it bigger right?! I can't wait for your wedding pictures, sounds like its going to be a pretty awesome event.

Yeah, and my Mom made a nice point that it'll probably have more fabric and drape nicer with more fabric at the bottom in the bigger size, so I hope she's right!

Aw, I hope that I'm still on VJ in September.. If I'm not I'll be sure to add you to Facebook so that you can see them!

Sapphire, you cant leave, you have another 2-3 years before citizenship ;)

Thanks Huggles :) I also realized the dress is under 300 dollars. That would be soo awesome. I do love its simplicity and just the flow -- perfect for a summer wedding. The wedding gown Ive always imagined myself buying would be one that I can take to the seamstress, get it cut, and wear for cocktail parties :P And this one, I think I can do it!

Yeah, I probably won't leave. I like hanging out with you guys! But I'll still add you both to Facebook. I'll have to find the VJ group, I don't think I'm a part of it.

So we had our shopping trip to get bridesmaid dresses. Me and Varba's sister got to the hotel in Buffalo around 5:30 and my friend and her baby got there at 6.

We went to Olive Garden for supper (right next to the mall) then went shopping. So we didnt' have much time and only did 2 stores. I was so bummed that we didn't find anything nice that night. So we got up early yesterday and hit the mall when it opened. We started at Penneys and found a nice dress, but had them put it on hold and kept looking.

Not much else was nice. We went to dress barn and they tried on some dresses. Didn't find much, so we went to David's Bridal. The dresses they tried on at Dress barn (priced $50) were $120 at David's Bridal! Exact same dress! I guess it's true that if you stick "wedding" or "bridal" on something it more than doubles the price. Anyway, there was a nice dress at David's Bridal and we had them put on hold and went to lunch to talk about it. We finally decided on the Penneys dress. Here it is!

It's in Black and white :) Looks super good on my girls.

The invitations shipped today!!! I'm so excited!

I just ordered my invitations tonight! I am excited. Can't wait until they ship! If you haven't looked at the place yet (for those who haven't ordered invitations) www.vistaprint.com is an awesome site with great paper products. Each of my invitations cost about 20 cents each with an envelope! Response cards were 21 cents each with an envelope! I couldn't have printed them at home in color for that price and I was able to get 560 return address labels for six dollars. The internet can be amazing at times.

That sounds like a great deal! I wish I would have known that before I bought my DIY invite kit ... oh well, Dan and I had a fun time putting them together (he'd never admit it but it was fun, lol)

Great dress, and that's great you got a good deal, too! My bridesmaids are wearing black dresses as well, but shorter than those.

I'm so stoked ... it's only one month and 28 days until Dan and I get married! Ahhhh!!!

Yeah with all the money we are spending on immigration, moving, and adjustment of status every little amount saved on things that can be "less expensive" is great. I had looked at the DIY invites and determined that this www.vistaprint.com company does it so much less expensively and with a great product that is high quality that it would be the way to go. Just trying to pass along what I have learned to others so they can save too!
