Now I'm wishing my favours were more unique. Haha.

And my stuff was shipped this morning, I hope none of the coasters break.

I think coasters are very unique.

I actually wanted to give out that plantable paper as a favor.. but with the vineyard giving out wine, stoppers seemed more fitting.

I love glass coasters, Rhianna! In fact, they don't even have to be glass! lol

The vineyard we got married at provided wine favors so we bought little heart shaped wine stoppers to go with it.

Oh, that's neat! I like wine. lol

Plantable paper?

Yeah, they make paper with seeds in it and you plant it and it grows flowers!

I think it's really cool.

So... we've had to cancel our photographer. We need the money now that my fiance has no job. I won't be getting my hair/makeup/nails done now either (though I can do some of that at home myself, but I'm not really the type that does that much, so it definitely won't look very nice)... My mom and my finace's mom don't wear much make up or do anything with their hair normally either, so it's not like they can do it for me. :(

We also aren't getting a cake now, or any extras. I don't even know what's going on about flowers now. My fiance doesn't have an outfit yet, but he'll probably just wear a button up top and khakis. I have my dress at least.... and realized that it's on the cover of the Fall/Winter 2009 Weddingbells magazine!!!?? How awesome! haha.... so via that, I was able to find exactly what dress it is, and get a pic. Of course, I'm no where near that skinny, so add about 80 lbs to your imagination... and mine doesn't sit that nice at the bottom, since I got it cut the same length all around, and that one looks longer in the back (something I regret agreeing to now, but whatever).

I also found out yesterday that my finace's mom has decided that she WON'T actually be able to climb down the steps needed to get to the beach that we wanted to have the ceremony at. So... now, exactly one week away, we have to find a new location. Yeah... yeah it's good times here. We haven't even written our vows yet, and I have not met our officiant (my fiance knows him), and have no idea how the ceremony is going to go. We also don't know where we're going for dinner. There are only 6 of us.... but still.

I'm kind of regretting asking my parents to come here for the wedding, and really just wish we could've done it as only the two of us at the courthouse or something.

Oh, edited to add that I also haven't found any shoes or sandals to wear either, and trust me, I've been looking. Can't buy online of course. Getting a bit frustrated by that. Might have to go the barefoot route, which I wanted to avoid. Sigh.

Anyways, here's my dress.

The dress is beautiful! I don't know what your hair looks like now, but I'm sure it'll look lovely. Just because someone doesn't do their own hair, doesn't mean they don't like doing hair, nor would it mean they'd not love doing yours!

You know, we had the most memorable and lovely wedding I could have ever asked for. We had 3 people taking pictures, and came up with some lovely pictures, just with a digital camera. I just had a barrett in my hair, I didn't have a wedding dress, I had a girlfriend make a dress and silky jacket to go with it. My husband just wore a suit, not a tux. I found a pair of shoes at Payless after traipsing everywhere looking for "the" pair of shoes...and they were right under my nose at Payless for $6.99.

You're going to be spending your wedding day with the most important people in your life, your fiance, who will be your husband, his parents, and yours. You couldn't ask for anything better. Please don't dispair, and don't be so down on yourself, and what you anticipate to be not the "dream" you envisioned. Be imaginative...love that you're marrying the love of your life...flowers? When are you getting married? I have a bouquet of silk flowers I'd give you if you'd like? Here's a picture of them. Just say the word and they're yours...I also have some garland that matches.

Carla - you are so sweet. That was an amazing post. I totally agree.

This day is about your and your fiance Ashen. Don't get so down about it. Try not to worry about everything being perfect or what seems to be the idea of perfect. What matters most is that you are together and that you are going to be spending the rest of your lives together. Jobs come and go, flowers wilt, that beach will always be there for wedding vow renewals.... focus on the love and marriage and being together. Everything else is secondary.

And that dress is lovely, what a perfect dress for the beach.

Just wanted to add that even though it won't be the wedding you thought it would be, you'll never regret your parents being there for the actual day you became husband and wife. I know my parents said they wouldn't miss it for the world and would have even been mad if we got married and didn't let them at least be there.

Look forward to the updates!
