I can't believe we're getting married on Saturday! I'm very excited, though I wish it didn't look like we're all going to freeze... Stupid wind chill in Florida.

Anyhow... this is a picture of the exact spot we'll be marrying at. Should make for good pictures. There's actually a stone platform on the otherside, overlooking the lake, and that's where we'll conduct everything... officiant closest to the monument, our family along the edge of the platform (closest to the lake) and us inbetween.

100_3203.jpg

The park is very pretty, though mostly green without many flowers during the winter time. Of course, the flowers its known for bloom from February to April. *grumble* But, either way, I'm happy with it, and it's free!

My soon-to-be sister-in-law's fiance is pretty handy with a camera, so he agreed to videotape the ceremony for my family back home, and to take some lovely pictures for us. I'm rather excited about that. We scoped out some neat looking areas in the park for photos afterward. I really do hope he can find some way to edit out my shivering! Haha.

We picked up our rings last week - Ben's a plain, yellow gold band, and mine a white gold band with five small diamonds in prong setting, which looks perfectly suited with my engagement ring. Now to ensure that Ben's suit fits him, and really, we're completely set.

Kind of scary, being this sure about things... hehe. Feels like a long, long time coming.

It's so close to our wedding and we still don't know about everyone on our list.

The only people left are all of my fiance's friends and my one friend. My other one can't come due to school.

I hope my other friend can come, it'd be kind of depressing to not have any friends there.

That looks like a lovely setting, Sam. I was thinking about you and this cold snap. I will keep my fingers crossed that it warms up in time for your wedding.

Thank you. We're all crossing our fingers too. I figure, if there's any day I can bear the cold to look semi-pretty, it'll be my wedding day, but I'd still rather it warm up a wee bit. I did tell our family that they're welcome to dress down a bit if they so chose to keep warm.

I know! It's almost surreal to watch everyone else go through everything, and then stand back and watch your own progress from filing to sigh of relief. :)

Thanks. :D Hoping we get some real nice ones to post.

My thoughts exactly! Being apart of VJ is something great isn't it? You get to see everyone go through the process from beginning to end.

That site looks amazing Sam! I can't wait for some pictures :)

Hey Sapphire! Congrats on getting out of the in laws place! I'm working on it... soon, hopefully soon...

Thanks Huggles! I'm super excited to finally be leaving the in-laws. We were both starting to get a bit antsy and an apartment that we both liked a lot within our budget became available. It happened really fast but everything is falling into place.

I'm excited for you guys!

Thanks! I know what you mean about getting antsy. For the most part everything is fine, but lately there have been a lot of little things starting to annoy me, and I think they are feeling the same way. His sister just moved back home as well, so the house is suddenly shrinking in on me. We want to be gone by the first week of February but apartment hunting is frustrating. I'm sure you can understand that! Congrats on finding something you both liked for a decent price! It seems like everything is super nice but really expensive or cheap and worn down. Where is the middle ground?

Sam -- your venue is beautiful! I hope you and Ben have a wonderful, bright, sunny day on your event! It would be marvelous :)

Thanks darkchilde! We are actually moving to a different city, which has its own set of challenges! We're moving from Denver, CO to Colorado Springs, CO about an hour to the south. Its pretty weird how things are set up here. You have these big sprawling metro areas with very little in between. Its not very desirable to live in between cities since there really is nothing around. There's a small town very close to the city we are moving and they don't have any apartment complexes, which I find hilarious  Its also strange that the more remote places are, the more expensive they end up, since living near the mountains is a big draw for a lot of people.

Bill has this great idea that we should try to buy a townhouse or small single family since home prices in the Springs are actually pretty reasonable. He's been in contact with a lender, so we'll see where this goes. I don't have any income and a very short credit history, so he's basically on his own as far as that goes. I don't see us qualifying for much but he's a dreamer, so usually I let him go and try
