spikeyflip

spikey - I used to have spiky hair ^_^ used to put a lot of gel lol.

flip - the word originated back to the American occupation. Mmm let's just say it's not a really nice word back then, I used it long time ago for my email since I didn't care abt the past meaning of it.

You know what might be more interesting, Confucian? Instead of asking us what ours mean... tell us what you think they mean. Or what's the first thing that pops into your head, thought or image, when you hear a screen name.

Start with jiskat ;)

Now that's an original idea! I like it!

Mine is kid stuff: MARVIN the Martian + GEORGE is the name the Abominable Snowman was trying to give Marvin while he cuddles him and hugs him...hehehe I doubt it anyone of you remembers this cartoon show.

I don't remember exactly, but something like "I will kiss him and hug him and love him, and I will name him GEORGE".... I think that was on another cartoon too. Not sure, though.

venusfire

Gosh!! You remembered i! I think the line goes like this: I'll hug him, and kiss him and cuddle him and call him GEORGE, oh boy, oh boy Oh GEORGE!

Far2Long was inspired by another VJ member we all know as just_Jackie who mentioned in a thread to me that I had already been waiting far too long. So there you have it. I plan to change it after I am in Egypt and reunited with my husband after 2.5 years. I should be able to sometime around the beginning of the new year. I've already got the name and I'm using it in several fB applications.

Phew...I thought maybe you were paying homage to Eric.

I started a new job as a copywriter where English was a second language, and I was asked to make the English sound more authentic. One of the guys I was working with handed me a document on which he'd written some notes, and he wanted to indicate that the perspective of the article needed altering. What he'd written was "story angel" (instead of angle...). After I'd pointed out his spelling mistake, and he subsequently realised my proofreading capabilities, the nickname "Story Angel" stuck! :)

Ok, I know this is dorky...

One day, I had that Bananrama song "Venus" stuck in my head... and needed to pick a screen name, so... there you go!

venusfire

P.S. (editing this) - I just realized a bunch of people will now have the song stuck in their heads too. Sorry for that...

I used to LOVE that song,it's not dorky !

Everyone know why I chose this name.

I don't

Oh, I just meant it was a dorky way to pick a screen name - because I had a song stuck in my head!

I don't know why "Niels Bohr" was chosen either.

Off topic, but I was actually born in Panama (Gorgas Hospital - Ancon, Canal Zone - Fort Clayton). Citizen at birth, though - I have the papers to prove it. ;)

I saw a scary looking turtle.

I don't know why I found this so funny. I'm laughing so hard I have tears.

I thought it was kind of funny, too. Somehow it got funnier after I read your post, though.

When I was in India training a couple of classes for work, my fiance gave me the name. The correct spelling is Kaushalya, she is the mother of a Hindu god, Rama. She was a virtuous queen. So my class started calling me Queen Kaushalya. And I just liked the name. Go figure, when I get married next month, I get another new name  Sorry for the long explanation. I am pretty bored this morning.

US + Canadian dual citizen = uscandual

Also happen to be an Israeli citizen

With a Thai fiancee

and with children who live in Brazil

All that would be much too much to squeeze into a screen name.

I keep track of 5 time-zones pretty much continuously in my head at all times. (It's 2PM in Chicago, 3PM in Ottawa, 4PM in Recife, 9PM in Israel, and 2AM where my honey lives.... like that)

WOW that is a amazing  . I thought it was tough for me. Washington D.C.-->Vietnam--> I just add 12hrs. I don't even bother to adjust my watch during travel..

First three letters of my first, middle, and last names. I was just telling my fiance yesterday that after I marry him and change my name, I won't be NatPatBen anymore! :crying: That's been my online name for over 10 years. I'll probably stick with it even when my last name changes.

Oh. Great thread idea, OP.
