Hello and salaams to all the wonderful people here on Vj...

it seems it will take a few days to read through all the information posted here.

Briefly I am European women, living in the USA...and God willing i will be marrying a great Algerian man this September, that I have been in relation with for the past 3 years.

There process there, the legal process I mean, not the religious process is so unclear to me.

I will plan to stay in Algeria for some time, but not live there. We plan God willing to have my future husband move here to the USA.

And again, the whole process is so unclear to me. I have read it mays take up to 3-5 years...wow that seems way too long.

I would greatly appreciate anyone's story, useful information or some resources...

I wish everyone here is very happy blessed life with your spouses and families.

If anyone can help me, plz write me a message here or to my email...T_heniko@freemail.hu

Peace to everyone here.... =)

Are you an american citizen or a permenant resident? From what I've heard, it takes forever for the spouse of a permenant resident to get a visa to immigrate to the United States.

If you're a permenant resident, this is probably a situation where you'll want to consult a good immigration attorney. Look them up in the phone book and ask for a free consultation. He or she should be able to lay out the whole process and timeline for you. I would also check out the subforum here on VJ that is dedicated to bringing relatives of PRs to the US.

If you're a US citizen, or will become one soon, VJ will be able to help you much easier.

Salaam and good luck on your visa journey.

Hello,

I think I am going through the same process that you are talking about. I am european also, I married someone from Morocco and then applied for citizenship, you can look at my time line on how long that took for me and the rest of the visa process. You have a green card right now and are applying for citizenship? What state do you live in that plays a big part on how long it will take. I hope this helps you.
