It seems the older, traditonal pronunciation is with an "iz" sound at the end. The "eez" ending (like the plural of "thesis") is more recent. And the ending is the same in both U.S. and U.K. English.

i say process-es, with "iz" sound.

yeah i love the difference in pronunciation between standard American English and British English. I'm the USC and its so funny to me (and cute) the way my British fiance: says, garage, vitamins, aluminum, etc haha. i love it!

& yes my fiance always laughs in USA when I ask for tomato & basil soup. Americans say tomAto & bAzil & well ...I say it correctly!! he he

Depends on the audience. If I'm in a room full of process geeks, I end it with eez. Otherwise, iz.

aunt vs. aunt ----> sometimes ont, sometimes ant.

i also waiver with route, via, and vase.

i think i do sometimes say PRO'-cess rather than 'PRAH'-cess.

and then you can add the verb pro-CESS' to the mix too!

I agree...I'm definitely not consistent with how I pronounce words that have more than one typical pronunciation. You mentioned route, vis, vase but there are many more
