Anyone miss R-R-R-R-OLL UP THE RIM???

No, I never liked Roll up the Rim.

1) I would order a coffee to drink in the store. So they would give me the coffee in a mug and then give me an empty plastic cup to roll up the rim. After that, it would go straight in the garbage. What a waste of plastic.

2) I think I won one doughnut once.

3) People in BC never win the major prizes. All the big dollar items go to people in Ontario. Tim Hortons did this on purpose.

I agree with you on that one, people in SK never win anything either! I do drink Tim Hortons though, this year I won 3 coffees and 1 donut.

ooo.. I do disagree on that... I'm in Ontario, and all I've heard of anyone winning is a BBQ or a bicycle. lol Have a look at this: What Are the Odds?

I had a Tim's coffee this morning and I didn't win anything. However, does anyone remember that story where some kids found a cup on the ground and they rolled it up and won the car?

Never mind that was the wrong link...lol this one is the right one. Hopefully.

Someone in my hometown won a car like 3 weeks ago! And the Tim Horton's across town had a laptop go out last week! That's all I can vouch for... But If you think about how many Timmies cups are sold everyday and how many prizes are actually available, its like the lottery.

My favorite "Roll up the rim" story regards an EDS poster from a few years ago (circa ~2005).

EDS is a global outsourcing firm. I was managing a project at ABN AMRO, a major Dutch bank, in their London offices. They had outsourced all their IT operations to EDS.

There were EDS posters all over the walls in the coffee room, reception areas, etc.

The theme of the poster was to indicate how EDS has a global reach, with 24 hour operations in offices around the world.

So they had a montage of employee's coffee cups captioned with the cities where those employees work - Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangalore, Paris, London, NY, etc.

Most of them were just nondescript office coffee mugs. However the one from Calgary Alberta was a Timmie's disposable paper cup with the unmistakable "Roll up the Rim to win" logo. I chuckled (ex-Canuck that I am). I figured that was deliberately contributed by the Calgary employee as a secret code signal to all Canadians doing business with EDS around the world, to get a knowing smile and memories of home.

Haha. I'd like that poster too.

I love Roll up the Rim!!! And I hate that I'm missing it. Boooooooo. My girlfriend won the camping equipment one year. She got all excited and went in there to claim it thinking they had it in the store. It was nice because they're avid campers, so it was perfect for them. Good stuff too!

One of my former co-workers, who is a fitness nut, used to say "When you win a donut, do you really win?"

So should we start saying 'y'all' instead of 'eh'?

I went 1/6 this year. I won a coffee. Yaaay! 2 years ago my friend won an i-pod. He's the only person I know who has won something other than a food item or a beverage.

I've said "ya'll" since birth... Ok since I learned how to talk. I don't know why!! I'm a Canadian that never crossed the mason-Dixie line until she was 18 :o AND I'm moving to Colorado... I don't think i've ever heard anyone say ya'll there before :P So i'm destined to never fit in anywhere... I'm a free spirit or something like that... Apparently I also had a NY accent until I was like 7. People used to ask if we were from Brooklyn...

I miss roll up the rim - I used to win coffees, bagels and donuts quite often. I always gave the donuts away (I don't eat donuts), but appreciated the others. Good friends of mine won a bicycle one year and other good friends won camping gear one year so the bigger prizes do get given. Hmm - they were in Ontario, too - maybe there is something in that!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I am not a huge Timmies person, but last year (don't hate LOL! HAHA), I won a $50 Tim's card on roll up the rim.... trust me when I tell you it's the ONLY thing I have won in my life LOL! HAHA!

My cousin who is huge on Tim's was so irritated with me, cause that whole summer, I would get a free coffee or donut almost everytime... I didn't even like their coffee then... I was still on a Starbucks vibe... so it was this on going joke...like I was cursed and she wished it was her lol!
