jundp...I think it was very nice of you to share that! Thanks!!

Thanks, Stina ;) Moment of weakness. I generally don't share things like that because I don't feel like hearing ####### about my religion. But then again, it IS Easter week, so what's a little ridicule....

Well I would hope that those who respect you wouldn't ridicule you. So I wouldn't worry about it! :) I am sure many enjoy reading what you wrote even if they don't post.

 I don't know why there needs to be so much combativeness and all out ridicule of anyone's religion here on VJ. I remember a time when people were a lot more respectful of one another's religious views.

You are talking about A.J. here. The biggest clown in the N.E.

I still cannot get over the United States of America not having Good Friday and Monday off.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Marilyn - I remember vividly, many threads on religious views over the last few years that I've been a member here and people were a lot less acerbic about their distaste or dislike for anyone's religion. Maybe because people are a lot more comfortable around each other now, they feel freer to express themselves more openly, which is good in some ways, but there are ways to do it without deliberately insulting someone else's religion. Just my two cents. :)

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Thank you for posting this very interesting article from my home country. And a very blessed Easter to my fellow Christians. I've always found it very strange that the US does not commemorate Good Friday, even in most Christian churches... I'm off to the local Methodist church at midday for service.

You're welcome. :) I found it on a different site, posted by an Aussie and thought it was good enough to pass along! :)

Good article, Stina, thanks for sharing :)

Blessed Easter to all who celebrate it! I love Holy Week, for me it is the focal point of the whole year. This Holy Week was especially poignant for me and our congregation, as we buried one of our church's leaders who died last week of cancer at the young age of 55. His funeral service Wednesday was awesome, with much focus placed on the hope of the resurrection of the body :)
