Hello everyone,

I am really getting tired of dealing with immigration and almost to the point of wanting to give up. I love my husband and I know he loves me. Yes, I know it's worth the wait. I am just tired, lonely, and depressed. The NVC had requested another copy of my husbands birth cert. apparently in Jamaica it used to be handwritten now they have upgraded to computer generated one. Long story short. An agent stated today that they received the bc yesterday on 4/8/09 now I received an email from the NVC on 4/3/09 stating.........................." The NVC has received the birth certificate and we have updated our records accordingly." ?????????????????????? What's going on????? The agent tells me it's currently being reviewed, then an electronic notification will be sent to the embassy for an interview date. Now we have a waiver to submit as well. Don't we suppose to receive an info pkt with some instructions 1st before the embassy interview? :bonk: I really wonder if that agent knows what she is talking about. They should be more thorough, being they are the only source we have. So, after the NVC review your case, the next step is...........?????

I agree with you. I gave up as well but on NVC and not my wife. I love her very much. NVC and USCIS are just eating away the time simply.

I mean if USCIS is going to take 6 months or more to process the I-130 application, why not verfiy everything during that time. Ask for Birth certificate and what not. NVC should come in only to collect these papers from USCIS and act as bridge between America and the US Embassy in the country of the spouse. I really want to ask them what fees is AOS and IV. Who came up with this? The original application I-130 contains all the information for the original fee specified; and truly I did not see anything different in DS230 ####### for which a IV fees has to be provided. BLAH.

My wife asked me to calm down and let the things run its course. She helped me relax and we talk more and have fun with each other more and less time with this process. My advise would be the same for you. Just get them the documents they need and let things run its course. But keep on enjoying the time of your life with your spouse.

I find this forum very useful to calm down my nerves as well. Stay Patient and everything will work out fine.

God Bless u all.

Yeah, I realized that waiting for the papers and being anxious and nervous and freaked out causes mini friction in my marriage. SO now we let things run its course. We talk about it but everytime we feel frustrated and get into this mini friction discussion.. we just stop and change topic.

We try to cope with being apart, and make as normal our lives are as possible.

Submit everything they ask for, constantly check for updated documents that they will need.

Soon the two of you will be reunited.

Thanks for your replies. Yes it's a L---------------------ONG road. I have been with my husband for 3 years and married for 2. We have been apart for 2yrs occassional visits to JA but not long stays we have 2 children one in school so the visits have to be short. That, to me, is no life. How can they possibly think that someone can tolerate this lifestyle for so long. Although, my husband is like your spouse, just as humble and patient. I guess we Americans are used to getting things NOW oppose to having to wait a long time. We can move about on this big island of America, unlike, someone like my husband just there on the tiny island of JA. Time waits for no one. I pray we all get the TIME to be with our love ones while the flames still burning and not let the evil spirits of immigration TIME LINES get the best of us like it almost has me. I almost want to go for the K3, but that is money I don't have to spare at the moment when the time come to go back for the immigrant visa. This is just too much. Today, makes a year since I lost my mother at age 54. I know that is playing a part in my down feelings. The NVC says it could take approx. 2-3 months before the interview from this date. that's insane. Yeah, I know someone out there has been waiting longer. It just seem like they just have an excuse for everything. All these ppl needing jobs, hello, can they train ppl to adjudicate. PPL do it everyday (judge others). Oh well , thanks for reading and responding. As my husband would say, "keep the faith, everything will work out in due time"

PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE..................................ONE LOVE

Hi sweetness!

I know how you feel... this process is so painful, i don't trust in AVR or in the email sent from NVC....

I understand the process this way: When the case is completed, the NVC will schedule the interview and then you'll receive an Appoiment letter with that date, then you can go to the medical exam and then you go to the embassy...

I think we all have the same feeling like you... tired, lonely, and depressed. But There is always a new day and a new hope.... every day you are closer to be together :star:

Good luck and best wishes

I read your time-line and fell out of my chair Oh MY GOD I'm so sorry no one should have to go through such delays. I want an interview date in China I don't care if I have to wait months for that then I will go twice to visit my wife NOW. My basic hope was a year from application to have her living here. I filed in last few days of October and if I beat the time-line then I am happy. late summer would be fine with me of course but your time line made me really upset I am still in shock you are so strong I wish you great and easy success with your interview next week please share your experience

sorry to hear about this, it is really hard.. harder than anybody could ever imagine but hang in there, it will come out sooner than we think.

did you try getting your congressman to help? It seems some here did that and they fly through all the red tape.

i really hope you get to reunite your family soon... must be tougher coz you have two kids.

Good luck to you... I hope it works out really fast for you from this day onwards.
