Hello,

This is my first post sp I hope this is the correct location. I received letter from NVC on 3/17/09 informing me that my petition would be forwarded to GZ. THEN I learn there is a 4 to 6 month delay in GZ. I had not seen that information before so I was sad to learn of this delay.

Is the delay taking 4 to 6 months?

Who else is waiting for mail processing and how long have you been waiting?

Can/should this be added to the timeline information? It is probably there and I missed it.

I just talked to USCIS on Tuesday and 6 months is standard for the I-130 & I-485. They are currently processing 485 received in June 2008 & 130 received in Oct 2008 at the MSC (we sent them to Chicago, but ours was then transferred to Missouri). The agent I spoke to was very kind and pleasant, and it sounds like 6 months is standard for these forms. The 765 (employment authorization) sounds like it takes approx. 75 days as a rule.

Hope this helps in some way.

The journey is long, but when its over will have been well worth the wait!

Much luck & Happiness

The latest report I've seen (last week) was a K1 case that took 10 weeks from NVC out to P3 out. From that point, an interview date will depend largely on when the P3 is returned by the beneficiary but assuming a similar timeline for you, I would expect an interview in August.

This answer has absolutely nothing to do with the question. USCIS is finished with the OP's petition.

This is SOP for GUZ, with the average NVC Out to P3 time hovering around 3 months. My NVC out date was Feb. 3rd and I am still waiting for GUZ to receive my K-1 file - they do not clear the packages containing the visa files out of customs until they are ready to work on them.

It is not taking as long as you may have heard. It took us 2 months to get the Packet 3, we returned pronto and now our packet 4 has arrived with

an interview date of 5-20. I suspect you will soon receive the packet 3.

Best of luck to both of you!!!!

3-4 months NVC to GUZ Receive, it has to do with Customs Clearance and the consulate backlog.

Moving to Regional forum

Also I highly recomend that you Joun and use "A Candle for Love" to research the nasty interview process at that consulate, that consulate tends to deny a lot of K-1 visas on "Non-Bona fide"

Beware of that site for anything besides general information. A lot of people who post gripes there are very thinskinned (and have questionable stories) so don't get involved in their instigations.

moving right along
