I filed for a K1 visa and got approved. My fiance received the interview date and documents needed for the interview but on one sheet where it says the day of the interview. It says interview for residence . Can a country change it to a residence type when it was filed as a k1 visa if they think its necessary?

A K-1 visa holder is an intending immigrant. Your interview will be conducted at the immigrant visa section, even though it is technically a non-immigrant visa. Hope that helps.
