Hi, curious as to the procedure if you fail a medical exam for any reason. Mainly, do they let you know the problem when you go to get your results or do they just give you sealed results, tell you nothing, and you find out at the interview? Would be interested in hearing any info on this experience...

p.s. please forgive my lack of person info, just want to remain anon for a time. Appreciate your understanding.

They will make you aware should there be any health problems. During my medical exam, I over heard the medical attendant talking to the other applicant. The latter was advised to recuperate for she's having a lung problem and she was given a 2-month ample time. The attendant further told her that the interview will be canceled for the moment and will just rescheduled if the lung was cleared.

I hope this info helps.

I am not sure there is such a thing as "failing", may not be the correct word. Medical results are given to the consulate and the consulate may reject a visa applicant based on the medical results, and it DOES happen. There have been many threads here about problems with the medical causing a visa denial. If a person has contagious tuberculosis, for example. Evidence of illegal drug use will cause a person to be denied for a visa. Generally they do not look for a reason to deny and they do not care about things like diabetes, heart disease, etc. They WILL notify the person they have a medical problem that needs treatment and for some things, follow up treatment in the USA may be required.
