If you have completed a MEDICAL in HCMC

Please forgive me for keeping my details and information private for now, but having a strange experience in the visa process and hope you guys will help me out. I hope those of you who have had a medical in Vietnam will be kind enough to answer..specifically the Vietnamese who have been through it or if those of you Americans would ask your wife this for me, I would really appreciate knowing specifically...

After the medical is completed at Cho Ray hospital, what is the exact procedure for receiving results?

a) Is the Vietnamese asked to return with the proof of their vaccinations?

b ) Was anyone asked to show proof of the vaccinations at any time?

c) Other than the sealed results, is anything given to the Vietnamese when they arrive for their results? What specifically?

d)Did Cho Ray ever call a Vietnamese before results were given to tell them when to arrive to pick up results or for any other reason?

e) If there is an illness or problem found, do they let you know, or a sealed results envelope could contain negative OR positive results?

f) Has anyone here ever received or even heard of anyone who received a negative result/did not pass? What was the procedure that followed?

any information to help me understand what is to be expected would be greatly appreciated. :-) I promise I will explain more once I, myself, can figure out what is going on. :-P

That place is a piece of work, isn't it? I'm frankly not surprised that this happened to someone eventually. During my wife's medical, they made her run up and down the hallway for about 15 minutes in very high heels, and then told her she had high blood pressure. This even showed up at our Port of Entry interview. It's hogwash. No one before or since has been able to get a blood pressure reading anywhere close to what they were claiming. And I actually believed them for a few days. Maybe they felt like picking on my wife 'cause she's on the heavier side and from Hanoi.

After medical is completed, the staff there will tell you when you can pick it up, usually the next day. Bring your vaccination records so you don't have to revaccinated again for what you already had. If you failed the medical exam such as tuberculosis, you should have treatment get rid of the bug. Dont worry, it is explained in the package that your SO has received before having medical exam

For the medical exam all SO will received the package right??? Doesn't matter K or CR1 visa right? It been almost 2 weeks, my wife has not received any packages? How long does it take for VN consulate to send out the package after their received the package from NVC?

Could someone give Needhelp the name/address of the other Med-Exam center near HCMC? Somewhere down the street from "Le Duan" Ave. I don't remember exactly what they call it but it's staffed by international physician or US nurses... Don't ever take your wife to Cho Ray Hospital, it's a disgrace and an embarrassing eye sore to the VN nation.

I'm sorry you have to go through this mess and got a negative feeling toward VN but this too shall pass brother... Not worry, worse case scenario they will ask her to redo the VAC record. Remember, VAC and Med exam is only a piece of the puzzle here, they could make your life a living hell if they choose to, so hang in there... more to come, just prepare for the worst and hope for the best!

so either going to Cho Ray Hospital for the exam or International Organization for Migration (IOM)? is that okay ... last time i hear that every body going for the exam have to go to Cho Ray Hospital? If I am wrong please correct me ... thanks

Oh, this is nice informations. IOM, that's the place that we chose to be our Agent. It's great to know that they also doing the Medical Exam. Cool. I remember my wife saying something about it but I wasn't sure that's where they want you to go. Thanks for the info. AGAINNNN heheheh
