exactly my point, with was stated as unstated. the only win in legalising illegals is for the illegals. everybody else suffers. frankly, i don't give a rats a$$ about illegals. they know they are not welcome in America, and should go home. i have no sympathy for them, at all. it's not over, and the title of this thread is way unreal.

i hear what you are saying... and i used to get pissed about the amnesty argument, especially what we went through to get my Mister here legally...

but now, i am over it. there are too many illegals here to deal with that we will have to compromise on something. there are too many for our current immigration system to deal with.

if we legalize illegal immigrants, and then start taxing them the way the rest of us are taxed, and allow them to integrate into our communities and schools (not as marginal characters, but as US greencard holders, potential citizens, and all that entails), then wouldn't that ultimately be a benefit to all of us?

if we leave them in illegal limbo, doesn't that just perpetuate the draining on our already drained economic & social service resources?

1.) but now, i am over it. there are too many illegals here to deal with that we will have to compromise on something. there are too many for our current immigration system to deal with.

2.) if we legalize illegal immigrants, and then start taxing them the way the rest of us are taxed, and allow them to integrate into our communities and schools (not as marginal characters, but as US greencard holders, potential citizens, and all that entails), then wouldn't that ultimately be a benefit to all of us?

3.) if we leave them in illegal limbo, doesn't that just perpetuate the draining on our already drained economic & social service resources?

1.) there are not too many illegals to deal with. if fed.gov wanted to get rid of them, they could do it with volunteers deputised from the legal populace at marginal expense. we have lots of detainment camps already in place, and could get 80% of the problem solved in a few weeks.

2.) most of the illegal immigrants in the US will never make more than 8-10 bux an hour. "taxing" them will result in a massive increase in federal spending under the "earned income credit" program. what a joke. giving legal status will also make them more prone to ask for other available handouts. you might not like to hear it, but the taxes are not the burden of the lower class, which is all most illegal immigrants could ever be. taxes are the burden of the middle class. we support the lower class. as far as integration is concerned, well, we've seen what has happened to So-Cal. it's another mexico. uneducated illegals do not integrate. they proliferate.

3.) illegal limbo reduces the drain on federal funds (taxes I pay). see #2.
