Ok if you examine the video I do clearly see Obama's left hand on his left knee supporting his weight for a right hand shake/bow. You see it swinging when he comes back up from the bow to place his left hand with his right hand into the shake. So the statement in the article saying he was shaking with both hands which caused the deep bow is incorrect. That leaves the question why did Obama bow to the Saudi King? I guess he will have to answer that after all seeing as it's important to people and some are saying it set precedence. It certainly doesn't help speculations by as much as 20% that still believe he is a Muslim even though he went to Church most every Sunday for the past 20 years of his life. If it is like AJ and someone early said that it was a bow typical to deep sorrow and regret yet he does it with a smile on his face I am not sure what to make of that. Was it for Gaza? Was it to help his image in the middle east because of his reaction to Gaza which was a turning point for many Arabs after Obama's election and reaction? Did someone instruct him incorrectly? Don't bow to the Queen but do bow to the Saudi King?

President Obama has not attended church services on any of the 11 Sundays since he took office

If it is like AJ and someone early said that it was a bow typical to deep sorrow and regret ...

I didn't say anything about sorrow or regret.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Obama's new Foreign policy suggests that the US "bow" to others...Not a good idea.

He did a significant "bow", indicative of deep sorrow and regret in Japanese custom. Wondering if there are similar meanings in the Middle East?

I got it from when you and William were talking. ^ I said AJ and someone earlier said. You agreed that the response of the King was also typical in accordance with what William said which made it look like you were in agreement of the total interaction.

So why did he bow to the Saudi King?

It's obvious he bowed but the White House said he didn't. I have a huge problem with this.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

In this still shot his hand is resting in the bow position supporting the bow posture so I take it back it was on his knee but it's still the same curtsy a man learns when asking a lady to formally ballroom dance.

There is also a full length video of the G20 summit. But I am really curious why Obama bowed? I'm not surprised some anonymous white house person would say it wasn't a bow especially if it's coming from a WH PR person trying to spin the mistake into the positive sphere.

 I think it is funny. I think it is especially funny that some people think this is equivelant to saying I look up to you, oh glorious foreign king! You guys are ###### up, arguing over a body gesture. What a riot and the best bit is, the president will end up apologizing for it and that will be seen as a sign of strength.

Or it could be the video that is as great as Bill Clinton hugging Monica Lewinski before anyone knew what was really going on between those two. I didn't think anything of their hug at the time either but boy was I wrong.

I could not give a flying #### what he does, he is not my president. That said, I would not care about this even if he was. It is no big deal but hey, I am not going to stop you from getting into a lather about it. Go right ahead and I will carry on laughing.

how would his faith take away from carrying out his duties as president? and even if he was a closet muslim, who cares? as long as he gets the economy going, the bad guys out of my backyard, my baby back in my arms, and bullsh!t at bay, i don't care. people need to chill out about stupid things. as if it's going to affect you personally to know whether he prays facing Mecca or prays to Jesus Christ.

and again.....i just don't get why this is even a problem. if he bowed, does that mean he's weak minded and that he's kissing saudi azz? let's be frank now, the house of saud kind of has a bit of the US by the ballz anyways. dont saudi investors own nearly 7% of usa-related stock, if not more at this point?

and while i like obama so far, i don't trust him either, after all he's a politician. although a very cool one, and one that i'm proud to have (so far) as leader of this country.

i understand everyone's entitled to their opinion and what not, but to argue over such petty insignificant and just plain dumb issues really confuse me.

but whatever. to each their own.

I am not surprised though, you are the ones who get worked up if a politician does not wear a flag pin and pissy if someone lets the US flag touch the ground as if somehow these things are what is important, not the things that actually are. Unbelievable.

JFK Jr. was once asked how would his being Catholic affect his running the country because of the implied allegiance to the Pope. If that doesn't help enlighten you then another hint is Mecca is in Saudi Arabia just as Rome is where the Vatican is. It matters to many millions of people for several good reasons if we're going that deep into it and the levels of deception should have been made clear from the start. Not implying that this is really the case just pointing out a few things.
