You think nothing like this has ever happened before?

I highly doubt it.

6, I cannot remember any incidents like this..... Maybe you remember one?

I can't, but then again this doesn't strike me as being any halfway important. So if it has happened before - its not something that I would have taken notice of anyway.

Honestly - I think people are getting way hysterical over this. It would be funny if only people weren't so stone-cold serious about it.

JFK Jr. was once asked how would his being Catholic affect his running the country because of the implied allegiance to the Pope. If that doesn't help enlighten you then another hint is Mecca is in Saudi Arabia just as Rome is where the Vatican is. It matters to many millions of people for several good reasons if we're going that deep into it and the levels of deception should have been made clear from the start. Not implying that this is really the case just pointing out a few things.

no offense, but this is such a ridiculous comment. it's well known that the saudi family are not religious people at all and that things are the way they are in KSA because it benefits the government to have people live in such a society. things are run there mainly based on their backwards culture and traditions, with mixing a bit of islam in there. it's hysterical how you can compare mecca to rome....seriously.again, im not sure why you would mention this, unless you're implying that obama the closet muslim is planning to #### over this country by forging an evil islamic alliance with the saudis?

Mecca is the holy city for many a Muslim and Rome is the holy city for many a Catholic. It's not a far stretch and entirely relevant especially for those that don't have prior knowledge as you seem to do with the Saudi family being the least religious. Not everyone has that added advantage of insight as you may well know the general perspective of a majority of the population of the US. Is it no surprise after 9/11 that people still live with fear here of what is to come and what means what? To you it may be laughable. That's you though.

And another silly thread to go along with my laughable line of thinking because it's so unpopular a connection of a thought that msn has to put it on it's home page today for all the world to see. WTH are they thinking? Especially with those first two they put on there? huh?

Good recon, 0livia.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I don't have "inside knowledge" that the Saudi family is anything, but there are several stories associated with them and the fact that they are seen in many parts of the world doing God knows what and spending God knows what kind of proves my point. I do not believe the world's Muslim population deem these people in the same category as Catholics would the pope. Muslims don't have a "pope", these holy cities in KSA are just that: holy cities. In as far as people living in fear after 9/11....well, that sort of depends on what you believe in regards to the tragedy. I find it hard to believe that only "Muslim terrorists" were involved in that.

The Saudi government works for their interests and their interests only, just like any other government or political figure anywhere else in the world. If Obama was really kissing Saudi butt, then it'd be for reasons other than implementing a so called worldwide Muslim conspiracy.

To say that Obama is working for the interests of the Saudi family, which seemingly are the top dogs of the entire 1+ billion Muslims of all backgrounds, ethnic groups, etc. is odd. Sorry. So, yes, I do find your previous statement strange, and even a bit offensive.

Like I said in a related thread... when the right wingers start caring about stuff that really matters (like starting a war in Iraq on trumped up intel & completely screwing up the execution for several years) & less on blowjobs (Clinton) and alleged bows (Obama) then the average american might see their opinions as noteworthy. Did Obama mess up? Perhaps. Is it a big deal? IMO I rate it somewhere between farting in church & streaking in public.

Colbert showed pictures of Bush holding the Saudi King's hand and giving him a kiss.

So yeah, this sort of thing has happened before.

The kiss and holding hands is a sign of friendship among equals. The bow is a sign of subservience. Big difference. No, it has never happened before.
