Outside Normal Processing Times

Shortly we shall be outside the normal processing time quoted by Vermont.

What would be the most effective means to get our case looked at, adjudicated ?

I can imagine there are plenty who have an NOA 1 prior to ours ( 20th Oct 2008 ) but I would be grateful to be advised as to the most effective course of action to take should we fall outside this time frame.

When I see that according to visajourney VSC is adjudicating cases some 100 days later than those by CSC I start to wonder where all the fairness is, and what happened to the first come first served scenario  . Either way this disparity in progressing cases seems to me to be grossly unfair.

Best wishes to all

Arthur

contact your congressman or senator they can help find out what is holding up your case. We did this when we were stuck at VSC everystep of the visa journey from visa to citizenship we had to watch people getting approved in less than half the time we had been waiting at the other service centers. I sucks big time when you are stuck in VSC Hell.

Many thanks, I believe they are the most effective in obtaining information regarding your case. Should we go over time then we shall take the appropriate steps to pursue adjudication. As far as VSC goes, it is indeed a mystery as to why they are taking so long compared to CSC. In fact it is very diheartening when people are approved in a couple of months and 6 months later people are still waiting.

Thanks Again

Vermont processing center has always been a mystery, and will never be solved. Im really surprised your petition was not transfer to CSC with all the others/ contact you congressman or Senator, tell them exactly whats going on, or in VSC case, what is not going on. God Bless and stay strong.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

As soon as you reach the "6 months" mark, call them and use the option "if you beleive your case is outside normal processing times". You should get to an operator. Go through the bla bla yada yada and they may tell you that you need to wait an additional 30-60 days to file an inquiry or expedite. At that point you can contact your congressman or senator. Or you could just big league them and go straight to the congressman/senator and have them ask for an inquiry/expedite. :D

Good Luck and I hope you get an approval before you have to even take it there. :)

VSC vs CSC, well...you're preachn to the choir friend lol

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Thank you so much you have been through the mill yourselves in more ways than one. There appears to be no logic to the processing between VSC and CSC. I know that the stress for couples is unreal and I cannot see why the process is as elongated as it is other than a form of immigration control. We shall keep the faith and do what all couples do pray for an end to this frustrating wait.

Best wishes to all

Contact your Senator Congressman and get them to inquire on the status of your case. You might also want to call USCIS and put in an Expedite / service request

Good Luck

Everyone here is so pleasant and helpful. As a bunch of potential immigrants I reckon we are not a bad lot. The plan is that should we not hear of anything by the 20th April then we shall contact our congressman's immigration representative to make a formal inquiry about our case. I think that seems to be as far as you can go. Hopefully we shall hear some positive news before then.

Best wishes

hi were in the same situtation been at vsc frpm 03 nov 08 and on the 02 feb 09 transfered to csc - but still we are waiting ofr an approval - so not sure why both places are takeing so long - when at both office people after these dates have filed and been approved - don't make sense thought it was first come first serve that what they say .

so unfair - and worst is so little we can do about it.....

waiting waiting and waiting!!!!!

hummm no idea what happened to VSC, couple of months ago my hubby told me he has a friend who was able to petition his fiance (going through VSC) in less than 4 months. So.. maybe they ran out of staff?

I hope you can get your congressman to act on your behalf.. more than 6 months and no update is a torture I wouldn't wish on anybody else.

I've been waiting for my NOA2 for less than a month now, and I feel like I'm going through hell... so I can't imagine what it feels like to wait for 6 months.

Hopefully, everybody just get their papers moving so we can be with our love ones already.

we are in the same situation and worst. Because we have been waiting since August. So we are entering the 8 month.

Our congressman called and said that pur case was with and officer and we will hear from the shortly. (nothing happened)

we put and inquiry at USCIS and yesterday we received an email after one month, saying that they are checking the case and within 60 days we will hear from them.

Now we r praying to see if that is true, cause this is a nightmare and they put our lives on hold.

Our case, still recieved and pending and hope to receibe NOA2 soon

:crying: we r so sad and tireddddd of this, but we keep the hope

It is all about Karma....my thinking.

I petitioned my son and spouse bak in October 26, 2008, they recived it on 28, NoA1 of Nov 5, and transfer to CSC on Jan 14 with bunch of other Vjers who are currently riding NVC smoothly ( i wish them all good luck) , but me. LOL

I have been waiting as well....and called about two weeks ago. Got transferred to CSC, spoke to a very old lady. the conversation went something like below:

" ahhhhhhhhh!! Case number" ( coughing)

"EAC02034928289349"

"your date of birth" ( by now i could tell she is an African American. and each number she typed in with a loud yaaaaaaaan noise ):)

"blah blah blah" , then on hold for 30 seconds

" pending"

"excuse me"

"your case is pending, you probably know that already" chuckles

"yes, i know. Can i talk to an IO please"

"who?"

"an immigration officer"

she said something i did not quiet get it, but sounded like she said " you are speaking to one"

" Iam sorry"

"you are talking to an IO. ummmmmmmm!! do you want a RFE"

"what? no, I mean its been so long and i have nieter gotten and RFE or anything else. i just want to make sure i did not miss any of your letters if there were any"

" we will notify you by mail. check your mail"

" I check my mail everyday"

"do you want a RFE' chuckles again

"well, if that is what coming my way then so be it. but i have submitted everything i could think of"

"let me pull your file"

pause

"i am looking into your file and oh, no, you need more evidence"

"like what?"

"that i cannot tell you"

'which application are you looking at , I have two"

" this is your spouse, give me the other number"

"EAC-bla blah blah, the only difference between the two petiions is the last digit. One ends on 5 and the other 6"

Chuckles and " let me see, your other case somehow got seperated."

"what do you ....."

she cuts me off and says " your case has not been assigned"

" excuse me what do you mean no assigned"

at this point she laughs at me and says

"Your case has not been assinged. I cannot tell you when it will be assigned. but dont call before 30 days"

"yes, but that is not fair, everyone else transferred with me is done and long gone. Why me stuck "

"it has not been assinged, wait for 30 days, and if you dont hear anythign from us, call back"

And she put the phone down.

So now the 30 days are up and will call today again. Dont forget the number i dialed was this, and surely it is the IO i spoke to. Next day when i cheked my online status , I had a LUD on the day of my converstaion and again on monday another update. I am thinking she pulled the file and on Monday she put it back where it belonged. NO NEWS till NOW.

What a freaking joke immigration is. seriously, some idiot loooked into my file, saw the files seperated, and pushed it aside to rot. To be honest those who enjoy seperating families like us deserve hanging by their balls. I really get agitated everytime I think of my cases. Sense of helplessness pisses me off even more....

Good luck to me and all those are waiting. I think i am up for a long ride with DHS...what can I do ?
