Yes. You can file for EAD, without AOS. Fee is $340.00, which already includes the biometric fee. I did the same. I do not see it as a waste of money at all, if it means helping the household finances. You can also apply for SSN as soon as you have your EAD.

Since you interviewed for the k3, and entered the US, you didnt not even need to pay the aos(affidavit of support) fee bill to nvc unless you plan on going back to phil to interview for the CR1.

At this point, NVC is NOT processing your adjustment of status. So, NO you do not need to pay the CR1 visa application fee to NVC if you are going to do adjustment of status here.

No, our plan is to adjust my status but my problem is at the moment we dont have enough money yet to file for it :( ...Is it ok if i will file first my WORKING PERMIT? in order for me to earn money...when is the best time to file ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS?is it as soon as possible?im a K3 visa holder too...We waste our money when we paid the affidavit of support to NVC...

Thanks for the help...I really do appreciate it

Hi,

No,What i mean we wasted money when we paid the Affidavit of Support to NVC coz i will not suppose to that anymore coz i will file adjustment to USCIS.Did you pay the Affidavit of Support fee bill of $70 and Immigrant visa fee of $400 to NVC?

When did you filed you Adjustment of Status, how long b4 your K3 visa will expire?are you going to renew your EAD if it will expire already and your AOS is still in process?

I really want to work now and also to help my husband for our financial. How long is the processing of EAD?

My visa will expire mid nxt year.Im just waiting for our 2nd year marriage anniversary maybe to avoid 2 year conditional GC coz if that will happen we need to pay again for the removal so another fee again. Our anniversary is on november this year, is it ok to wait that long?

Thanks for the help...

You don't have to wait for your 2 year anniversary in order to send in your application for AOS to get a 10 year card. You only need to have been married 2 years at the time of your interview so you can get the 10 year card.

Check the processing times for your district where you will interview. If your 2nd anniversary is this November, you can most likely send in your AOS now and still get a 10 year card at interview.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!
