There's probably some ridiculous USCIS reason why they can't do it but you never know.

This isn't a USCIS thing right now so an infopass won't help. Visas are granted through the Dept of State, a totally different piece of the US government. Maybe you could write Hillary Clinton...she's the head honcho as US Secretary of State.

Sorry you're still waiting Marm. :(

And I did exactly that...maybe I am crazy but I would rather do it than regret that I did not, I wrote to:

Hilary Clinton, the Assistant Secretary, and the Deputy Secretary as well (all Washington, DC)

Helen Rice, and J. Steaberg: Consul Generals at the US Embassy in London (London, UK)

And just as a last thought: VP Biden and First Lady as well.

We are the point of desperation now...my fiance no longer can continue his job as his contract has expired and he needs to show a valid UK resident/student visa that is valid from 6 months beyond today's date in order to renew his contract or look for another place to work while he waits it out until November in the UK or gets the K-1 visa, whichever comes first. We are stuck in quite a difficult situation as basically now my fiance is literally just waiting to hear about his visa and no one, neither DOS, nor the US Embassy in London understand that he MUST leave within a month so he needs his passport back and he needs to know what will happen to the K-1. It's all horribly hopeless to contact any of these people in the ways we have: emails to London, calling DOS, asking the senators and congressman to help...nothing is working so I hope that me writing these letters has some effect (although I doubt it very much). We are just praying hard and calling DOS everyday...

sorry marm......no words. flabbergasted.

i'm hoping its soon. its happened b4....

OK, I am a little freaked out and worried right now...

I called DOS again to ask whether the visa had been printed because it is not showing up on the courier tracking web page, and a different DOS rep (different from the one that told me earlier today that my fiance's visa has been issued) tells me that his case is still processing/pending. Then I told her about the conversation I had with the first rep (unfortunately I didn't get her name) and she told me then that was the wrong information, it has not been issued. And I was shocked, still am...this couldn't be a cruel joke on us, could it? And I know it is not a misunderstanding because she confirmed my name, my fiance's name, she even asked me, "he was interviewed on May 12, right?" and i said yes, and then she told me the visa has been issued and congratulated me IN GREAT DETAIL. So there is no way it could have been a mistake, I just don't understand what is going on...the second DOS rep took my phone # and said she would get back to me on why I was told that is is issued when it is NOT, and it is still pending. I can't believe this.

That sucks (maybe )...

Remember that the helplines for USCIS and DoS are notorious for giving out inaccurate or misleading info. There have been countless times when they have indicated that somebody is still processing when in actual fact, they're approved. BUT I've never heard of somebody being told that they are approved when in reality, they're not. I'd be more inclined to believe the first rep you spoke to.

Did the first rep say that the visa was approved or that it had actually been produced? There's normally a difference of a few days between approval and production/release so that might explain why the second rep considered him to be in processing still (in so much as the visa hasn't been physically printed and mailed yet). That's just speculation though, of course :(.

Did your fiancé give the courier a mobile phone number when he paid them the delivery fee? If he did then they should send him a text message when they collect the visa and passport from the embassy. Receiving that text message would be a sure fire indicator that the visa is on the way...

Fingers crossed :)

I hope the first rep was right...I did NOT dream the 5 minute conversation I had with her...She told me that the visa has been issued. Those were her words, "Congratulations, his visa has been issued." I hope that the fact that it is not printed physically yet is the reason for the 2nd rep telling me that is is still in process. But the 2nd rep was surprised that I was told that it was issued and she was like "this is wrong, we don't do that, who told you that it was approved?" And it was stupid of me not to get the name of the 1st rep, I was so happy, the last thing I was thinking of was her name...My fiance has given the courier his mobile #, so we are hoping and praying REALLY REALLY HARD that tomorrow he gets the text msg that it is on its way...this is so crazy, it is never over until it is REALLY over. I would never dream in a million years that someone could tell me approved in so many words and then the next time I call I get "its processing, its not approved, who told you it was approved"

Here is to more waiting :(
