Hello Ladies & Gents!

I am new here so please bare with me.. and I know I know, I will post up my timeline soon.

After you receive approval notice from uscis you receive a approval letter, and on that approval letter it states that please allow 90 days before you contact the NVC. My question is, can we still contact the NVC before the 90 days without disturbing the case? will they get mad if I do before the 90 days and punish me by making us wait longer?

Any thing will help :D

ummmmm no, def not. they do not punish you haha, atleast ive never heard of anything like that.... but they will probably be like 'oh well your case is still within the 90 days processing time, or w/e please call back when it has passed the 90 day deadline or w/e' and they probably wont be able to help you much.

I haven't got a notice from the NVC or any other information. I also signed up for uscis instant email alerts and even though i received approval letter in the mail, the status on the internet says pending..hmmmm  Does anyone else have this similar type of situation?

ALOT OF PEOPLE have been having problems with the online system, almost all of the current people going through AOS right now cannot even find their special codes inthe system, so your lucky you can, as for updating regularly and being accurate 100% of the time, that falls into the fact that the system is under severe construction because it sucks so bad. So if i were you, i would just go by what you get in mail, or call, and dont rely too havily on the stuff online, but if it really mkes your day, you can always take a peak to make yourself happy haha.

Oh GOD!!!!! based on your approval date many people have even completed NVC journey.

What you are waiting for?

USCIS send approval notice (NOA2) by an e-mail and then send hard copy of approval notice to petitioner and forward the case to NVC where case # assign.

Call NVC automated phone line, using your USCIS receipt # find out any NVC case # assigned to you or not but best is to talk someone at NVC.

yea, i will try and call the nvc see what they say.

Well i'll post a little of my story here so tell me what you guys think...

it was December 2007 when I fell in love with a girl introduced to me by her relative. We chatted online, day and night not knowing what we are about to face. Her feelings got involved and mine also. I am US citizen and I live here in the states. She lives in pakistan. So I inquire with the US govt to see what I can do

I end up filing for k1 fiance visa in January 2008. On the k1 visa there is a clause that states that if meeting with your fiance violates social culture and long established tradition of your country than we may waive the requirement that you must meet in person. So, with this clause I go ahead and apply the k1 stating that my culture does not allow us to physically have a relationship until after marriage. So I waited and waited for a reply.

Not no sooner than a few weeks after applying and doing some research i've learned that this is a lengthy and painstaking process. But I still continued and proceeded to wait. As I continued to have rhetorical relationship with my already declared fiance and soon to be wife, days turned into night, and night turned into day. Time slowed down. What was once that I enjoyed most; going out with friends, going to work, watching a movie, going out to dinner with co-workers, or just doing the casual every day stuff.. wasn't the same. I was missing my fiance because I was waiting to get married, waiting to live my life.. waiting for those people at the uscis center to send me a visa or approval notice.

January passed and so winter was ending, February, then March, April (spring never seemed gloomy), Longing for her even more May, then a glimps of hope comes in June, Finally a letter from the uscis. I take the letter to my room and open it up only to find out that they want more evidence. Running on that glimps of hope, I send a reply to the uscis with evidence stating that in my religion and culture we do arrange marriages and cannot meet physically or touch and so on..

Waiting game continues, from July, August, then in September they send a letter out. Denied.

Reason did not meet in person. I went through 3 seasons for a denial.

What was I to tell my fiance? So I call her up and tell her the story. It was like a breakup message. She and I were silent. We couldn't say anything.

9 months of waiting for a response to live my life with my love. Its very sad and disspointing this happened.

Not giving up hope, I went to Pakistan consulate and received a visa that same day. I set out to Pakistan in October. I arrived there, and we shared our vows and got married in what was the most memorable and happiest month of my entire 31 years of my life. I came back home and reapplied to the uscis in December '08. Finally it got approved on February 27, 2009. 400 days and still waiting to start living my life with the love of my life.

This process is very sad & hard because I believe life is short, and we are newly weds and we have our youth is so valuable and those 400 days we could've been spending time together as young newly weds sadly will never come back, so we are being tested, and I recommend whoever is setting out to marry someone overseas.. better be prepared to wait or live with them overseas until you get approved.

I did find out that they did assign a case number at the nvc for the I-130 only but not the I-129F because I applied for the K3 thingy. I have an attorney involved and the automated machine at the nvc said that they mailed out the aos and immigrant visa fees on march 18. I hope I am not delaying in anything... because i dont know what i am doing in this complex process..
