expired i-94 and visa

hi...I have just filed my AOS and planning to travel in El Paso Tx on the first week of May. My question is, am I allowed in the airport while my visa and i-94 has already expired and my AOS still pending?? what permit or note do you think should I show them that I have a pending AOS?? thanks

You still might get detained while they verify your status with DHS. I would bring a copy of your NOA#1 showing that your I-485 and I-765 have been filed with the USCIS. That, a copy of your marriage certificate, and your passport should be all the evidence you need.

If it's a domestic flight from the US to El Paso, you won't go through any immigration at the airport. You should just get off the plane and pick up your luggage and leave. But in a Mexican border town, having proof of status with you on your visit is a good idea. They deal with illegals much more often than in middle America so proving you status could come up in something as simple as a traffic stop.

Your NOA for your AOS should be in your hands by that time (if so, carry that with yoiu), but if it hasn't arrived yet, carry a photocopy of the cover-letter that you had sent to USCIS when you submitted your AOS package. Absolutely carry your marriage certificate and your valid foreign passport with you.
