Hello everyone, I recently got married and now I am gathering all the paperwork to apply for my wife visa from pakistan. This is what I understood so far after reading guides from this site.

I need to file a I-130 and G-325a form for me and my wife.

I need the following paperwork

  • Our Marriage Certificate
  • My wife Birth Certificate and her Pakistan ID
  • My US Passport copy
  • Naturalization Certificate Copy
  • Passport size photos

We have photos and video of our wedding, will that be enough evidence of a Bonifide Marriage? Please let me know If I am missing anything. Thanks

You case is CR1 because you just got married. IR1 is if your marriage is two or more years old. Everything in your list is fine EXCEPT that you do not need her birth certificate and ID card. They are not asking it in instructions. You need Nikkah Nama in Urdu along with english translations and translator's certification. Also need to include the proof of bona fide marraige like affadavits from two or more people OR other proofs as per I-130 instructions. Good luck!!!

We provided copies of our phone statements with phone calls and text between each other, as well as copies of e-mails, skype chat history, letters from my husband's (the USC) parents that they know me and are aware of our marriage, as well as letters from our US friends. Also we sent more than a 100 pics with explanation where and when the photos were taken, receipts from trips we attended together, hotel reservations, plane tickets, etc. USCIS does not accept videos. They dont have time to watch them

It's very important if the petitioner's family is aware of the relationship/marriage and if they know the beneficiary! A good proof for not a fraud marriage ;)

Good luck with your filing!

Thanks everyone for the replies..

Fiaz & Brenda mentioned that I need my wife passport, birth certificate and police record? isn't that stuff is needed when your I-130 is approved and your case gets forwarded it to NVC? Please clear this up. My wife doesn't have Pakistani passport yet, should she apply for it right now or wait till case gets forwarded it to NVC?

Thanks

You are right, you do not need all other documents. Just the documents on your first post and other things I mentioned. You will need other documents before the interview at NVC stage. Depending on your situation, you may/may not need to include the Divorce Certificate with the I-130 that the previous marriage was legally termintaed, but this may not apply to you. Good luck again!!!
