OK, I would now like to recommend something else uniquely American (as far as I'm aware anyway): deviled eggs. 'Er indoors has just made a load of 'em for Easter dinner today, and they are top drawer.

For the uninitiated, they're basically hard boiled egg-whites (you scoop out the yolk) stuffed with this delicious mixture of odds and sods, and they are so moreish it's unbelievable.

Something else I'd like to recommend - country style ribs. Basically, 'er indoors is a hillbilly, so we invariably eat hillbilly food (which, apart from vile ###### like biscuits & gravy and grits, is very good.) One of her specialities is country style ribs, which are not so much ribs, more like steaks!

According to her, they're "poor mans' ribs" but quite frankly, you can shove the "rich" alternative (babyback ribs) where the sun don't shine. I gotta a belly-full of country ribs in me, and dey da BOMB!!

Edit: 'er indoors has just told me to tell "y'all" (lol @ hillbilly speak ) that you MUST use Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce, or it don't work. OK then

I tried these today, put them on the grill, and they're really nice...and i'm not normally a lover of bar-b-q sauces.

Another thing added to my list of must eat again!!

I'm sort of interested in positive responses because well....em.....the reputation of Brits on VJ complaining about food in the US is sort of..........overwhelming.......

I love Mahi Mahi, cant get it here I have tried.......... so looking forward to that when I get to Texas 4 weeks today and counting and diet dr pepper but wish they would bring back the berries and cream so will make do with cherry vanilla unless they have discontinued that as well and Ben and Jerrys Dave Mathews Band flavour although could not manage to track it down last time I was there
