Hi,

I was wondering about the advanced parole so that I can travel while my AOS is being processed (I had a student visa and then married a citizen). I can't tell if its something that is quite hard to get or merely a formality. I don't have any trips planned in the near future, but was wondering if I should apply in case I have to go home for a family emergency. Do I have to have a specific trip in mind when I apply or can I apply just in case I feel like traveling? How long does it take to process?

Any advice on this topic?

Apply, it's a formality but quite necessary as you can't leave the US without it.

As far as processing time, we are approaching 60 days, and no word yet.

Infopass appointment made 7/27, earliest date 8.10 @ 1PM

Infopass found that NBC lost our 131 photos, it was approved on 7/10!

They are using 485 photos to process the 131 and should have sent it

out to us on 8/11 --- RECEIVED AP 8/18 !! whoohoo

Appointment notice rec'd 7/28, GC interview 9/19 @ 1PM

APPROVED, given a 1 year stamp - told the card would be mailed right away :)

Rec'd 2yr conditional GC 10 days after interview :)
