My fiance is already on the train to Montreal from Windsor and he realized a few hours into the ride that he accidentally left the medical at home. His mother is mailing it ultra express or NextAM, and we're hoping to get a confirmation of the possible arrival time soon but if it doesn't get there by the time he needs to leave for the interview tomorrow...

Would it be possible for him to bring it back to them later the same day, or on the next day?

What should we do?

We're both worried now that this will likely ruin everything we've worked for. :crying:

Don't worry. I am sure it's gonna be fine. The important thing is to show up at the interview. The wonderful thing is that once you are at the interview, your file is open and he can probably send it the day aftr or something. Don't worry. The important thing is to get there. No worries for the medical. I am sure it will be fine. Relax.

I'm sorry to hear that, because in our country the Hospital is the one who will forward the medical result to the US Embassy not the applicant, so i'm assuming that it will be the same procedures in your country, or you can explain the situation to the pre-screener so that they can contact the hospital to verify your medical record, Good luck!!!

Just got a confirmation from his mother that the earliest the package will be delivered is 10 AM.

His scheduled interview time is at 9 AM, and he was planning to get there by 6:45 AM D:

This is an absolute nightmare.

No worries. He can go to the appointment and explain the situation and they will hold his file until he can drop it back off to them.

Thanks so much for your info. It is nice to have someone who has gone through this part already in Canada, I appreciate everyone else's answers too though :) Maybe I'll be super lucky and even get a response from someone who did the same thing, lol.

To distract myself from not freaking out I read your grocery list and we totally have several of those things listed as not in the US here in Texas.

You are welcome. They should just give him a slip to return later that day. At least, that's what they did with me when I was coming back in after interview hours.

:thumbs: Maybe let us know which items. Here's the link. Where it gets tricky is that some items are available in the US but they use different ingredients in the processing. Like Coke and ketchup and chocolate bars and things like that. But it would definitely be helpful if you know where some items are available. :)

Unsweetened Shredded Coconut: central market, whole foods, HEB (sometimes)

Kinder Surprise Eggs: around easter they're at central market and whole foods sometimes.

KitKat: everywhere? Asian markets usually have the "different" flavors, in Austin we have MK Supermarket that carries the green tea flavor.

Smarties: World Market, Central Market (sometimes), Whole Foods. World Market almost always has them.

Cookies, Oreos: All over, but again Asian Markets tend to have the different flavors.

Jello, Cranberry: this shows up in fall/winter in Safeway stores (Tom Thumb/Randalls/Safeway). I've seen it at MK Supermarket once as well.

Tim Horton's: There are several Timmies locations in the US, they just aren't as good lol

Coke: Mexican coke and Canadian coke should be the same thing (no HFCS, right?) Safeway stores, Fiesta Mart, Central Market, and Whole Foods all carry that.

C-Plus: A comparable would be Sunkist, C-Plus is just a decaf version IIRC. Sunkist is all over the place, it is fairly popular.

Cheese Whiz: This is at safeway stores for sure.

Rice, Uncle Ben's: Safeway stores & HEB have these.

Cheese Nips: Safeway stores, HEB...anywhere really, maybe this is an ingredient change one?

Colgate Total: CVS has this, if you need a fluoride toothpaste over 1.1% you have to get it from the DR though.

You forgot Bacon and Sour Cream flavored ruffles on your list, as well as Fruitopia, and Rolo/Caramilk/Coffee Crisp flavored milk ;-; The closest thing to fruitopia still in the US would probably be the Arizona brand fruit punch that comes in a can.

OH! and HEB definitely has Dill Pickle flavored chips, I am not sure what brand but one of my friends eats them like they're going out of style.

Just for the record, the soonest I was able to get a medical appointment was the day AFTER my interview. (This was in Vancouver) I explained this when I showed up for my Visa interview, and was told, "No problem, it happens, but even if you pass your interview today we can't issue a Visa until you have your medical". They gave me a note saying I was to be readmitted to the building the next day with my medical results, I came back with them, I got my Visa no problem. Just make sure you tell the person who checks you in for your appointment, since Montreal may have different policies.

"Your mom is in my head right now, and she's saying don't do that."

"For Sale. One Parachute . Used only once, never been opened. Small stain."
