I-134 Questions

I have several questions:

(1) On the I-134, item (3), how do I answer questions like the name of my fiancee's spouse (obviously she has no spouse), do I leave it blank or say "none"? (and similarly for the question regarding children names (there are none)?;

(2) On the I-134, item (7), if my salary is more than adequate to qualify, do I need to divulge additional finacial net worth information such as savings account balances, stocks and bond investments, etc?;

(3) On the I-134, item (11), how do I answer the question regarding whether I "intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person" in terms of the "exact nature and duration of the contributions"?;

(4) Does my fiancee really have to hear from the embassy directly first before she can submit the packet 3 checklist and required documents and get an interview date/time or does one get a State Department case number from the NVC upon forwarding to the embassy that would allow her to submit preemptively?

Thank you for your help, I really don't want to make a mistake on the I-134

1. since the question doesn't apply to your fiancee, use NONE.

2. if you meet the poverty guideline then you don't need to provide anymore info.

3. Check No and write down " I will support "name of fiance(e) as my spouse"

4. sorry, can't help you with this question..

US Embassy and Consulate General Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

YMMV

Tim, check the East Asian Regional Forum. I started a thread there with the updated Packet 3 and rsn recently uploaded a pdf of the same document. Looking over that shall help you better prepare for the interview.

You will need to confirm that the I-129F petition has arrived at the US Consulte in Bangkok before mailing back Packet 3, however you do not need to wait until receiving Packet 3. We emailed them to check status.

If you have not already, get the police certificate. My fiancée had to wait 2 weeks, and now almost 2 more due to a mistake on their end. It's really held up what has been up till this point a smooth journey.

Any further questions, feel free to contact me.

1. If you look closely at that question, it also includes former spouses. If she was never married answer "none" Also for children, if none, answer "none"

2. No. Leave it blank

3. answer "NA, K-1 visa process for marriage and permanent residency"

4. Depends on consulate, check their instructions for interview documents

No, the I-134 asks nothing about former spouses. The question is in the present tense, so only a current spouse would be named. When sponsoring a K1 applicant, the answer better be "none".
