^ YUP that looks like the official NOA2!!!!

Now I have all today to debate if I ask him to send it.

Man, this thing sure is getting pricey.

Has anyone else who had an interview in Montreal had to show them this?

They didn't ask me for it at all. Save your money!

Also - I wouldn't show any pictures of your non-legal wedding. That would just open up a can of worms if you ask me. They might ask to see proof that it wasn't legal and that would be difficult. They probably won't even ask for any evidence... but that's just my advice.

Yeah, I decided not to get him to send it. I am considering my P3 and P4 my evidence.

Also, yah, I am not gonna show pics. It is opening a can of worms, even though for the record it was non legal, non religious, non everything :D

Its just.......well............I look really good in them :(

OKay, obviously everyone's list is basically the same (LOL) but I've got the list of stuff we're taking put together, finally. Is there anything I might be forgetting?

Here's what we've got in our Binder O' Fun!

INTERVIEW LIST

(all of these will be in duplicate)

 Interview Letter

 Passport

 Birth Certificate

 Photos

 Police report (RCMP clearance)

 Updated letter of intent from US fiancé

 I-134 Affidavit of Support

 Employment Letters

 DS-156

 DS-156K (unsigned)

 DS-160

 DS-230

 Tax Transcripts

 Copy of 2008 taxes (I'm including this b/c 2008 was a weird tax year for me... AGI went down compared to other years although salary went up.)

 2008 W2s

 Medical sealed envelope & X-ray

 Copy of my lawyers file (from the original filing, NOA2 etc. plus copies of original proof sent in, phone bills, plane tickets etc..)

 Phone bills since 08/2008

 Photos since we met (reprint of I-129F and new ones)

 Cards, etc. for engagement, wedding receipts, etc.

Julybride....looks like a good list!

In mine, I am including a letter from his bank stating his balance and a letter from his employer stating his salary and how long he has been there etc.etc.

The DS 230 is what we sent with P3, are you filling out a new one or just a photocopy of the one you sent in with P3? I was unaware we needed to fill it out again??

Is anyone bringing their original K129 file??

On a completely random note, I just noticed that my NO2 will still be valid on the day I have my interview. Maybe that has some effect on how Montreal determines interview dates? They don't want to go out of their way to extend the validity of the NO2? I like coming up with weird theories :)

Good list! I'm stealing it too. I'm stealing both your lists and combining them to create a SUPER list! No, if anyone here forgets something totally important it WILL be me.

My NOA2 was extended, but the yjust do it automatically. The only place I noticed the new extended date was on the actual visa in my passport. No biggie.

You don't need to bring the XRay - they specifically ask you for the medical minus the XRay so it's a waste of space!

 2008 W2s

I'm lost...

Do we really need those 3 (tax transcripts, taxes and W2s) ? Or 2008-2007-2006 W2s are enough?

We're having a co-sponsor but I thought W2s from the past 3 years only were enough...

Those are part of my employment letters. As for the DS-230, when he filled it out, I had printed an extra copy before he signed the original. So, we've got that in his file, too... and no, you don't need to fill it out again. :) The original K-129 is in one section of our Binder O' Fun. So, by default, yes, we're bringing it.

 Cards, etc. for engagement, wedding receipts, etc.

I personally would vote you NOT include these. See, you are doing it subconciously, calling the ceremony a "wedding".

To me that just flies against the purpose of the K-1; which is you immigrate then you get married.

Yea yea I know it's not legal.....but by calling it a wedding you are acknowledging it to be something special and not just dinner with family and friends.

Good luck and I'm praying for success, whateve decision you make. Just be prepared. Obvioiusly all will depend on the Embassy and the CO.

July09bride, has never had any type of ceramony...she's talking about the wedding she us planning in July. If u read her timeline....the receipts and stuff she plans in bringing are plans for her 'future' wedding, should the visa be granted.

Exactly right. I was told to include things that demonstrate proof that we are planning the wedding and that the wedding will be within the 90 days of him entering the country and that the date when he plans on entering the country is within the 6 months of the Visa being granted. As in, his interview is 4/16/2009... he enters USA on 6/22/2009... wedding on 7/17/2009. :)

Thanks for keeping an eye out for things like this, though, Baron!

It's good to have, but I didn't have any "proof" of our upcoming wedding, you don't need actual proof but of course it doesn't hurt! Only because many people do a quickie civil ceremony before their larger wedding with family and friends, so there is often no proof to bring. Actually I did bring an e-mail from the JOP confirming the date we'd be at his house to be married so I guess that was my 1 item of proof. So excited for you all going to Montreal this week!
