Hi,

I have my wife's birth certificate. It is from the Union Council and it is notarized.

Only thing I do not see in that certificate is her mothers name everything else looks ok.

Anybody thinks there may be a problem, because her mother name is not on the Birth certificate.

And do I need to send all these original forms to NVC. I am kind of afraid to send originals since I do not know if I get

them back properly.

Everyone here is very helpful and thank you.

I don't know if not having her mother's name would affect it or not, maybe in her country their parents names aren't posted on the birth certificates.

You should receive your documents back after the interview, but if you don't feel comfortable, just send the copies along with the paperwork for notarization.

If you manage to get another then it would be better but at this time no choice for you. Just take a chance send it as is and Send original to NVC.

Below are the requirements from Dept of State's website

Each applicant will need to obtain an original birth certificate issued by the official custodian of birth records in the country of birth, showing the date and place of birth and the parentage of the alien, based upon the original registration of birth.

The certificate must contain the:

Person’s date of birth

Person’s place of birth

Names of both parents, and

Annotation by the appropriate authority indicating that it is an extract from the official records
