Nessa she's used the wrap one since her baby was 2 weeks old. You can wrap it all sorts of different ways. It comes with directions on how to wrap it like 20 different ways or something. I tried to use it when I watched her daughter, but I just got way too confused and carried her.

The pool people are here getting our pool ready for the summer. I gave them beers and told them not to fall in.

I cancelled all my plans for today. I was supposed to go to lunch with one friend, to an afternoon movie with another, and then to a BBQ at my aunt's house tonight. Instead, I baked some stuff, made some soup, and layed on the couch watching Six Feet Under. I just want to nap, but I suck at napping, so I'll just watch more Six Feet Under.

I'm back from my "intellectual" night out.

So I met up with other friends at around 10:30pm. At 11pm my other friend called me (the one I was supposed to go out with) and tells me that she is not coming out, since it's too late now and she is tired. She volunteered to go out for a cuppa tomorrow and I said that she really doesn't have to. #######? She asked me two weeks ago if I wanted to go with her. Yesterday she asked me if it was ok to bring her friend. And today she gets stuck at her friend's house and lets me wait all evening long to then tell me that she is not going out. It was all her idea and then she stands me up.

We had a good night though, one of the places we went twas the architecture museum, with a great exhibit of award winning architectual photographies and a Pulp Fiction revival band playing loudly in Hawaiian shirts. Checked out a few other places and had kebabs from the kebab boat on the river.

I am still #######-ing about my friend.

Me too :luv: I was so happy when I found my apartment, since it's one block away from the river and the main museums are just around the corner. Plus all the cider houses of course. I am glad you got to see the nice side of Frankfurt.

Frankfurt is always good for a Kebab, Jodes ;)

As for the bailing out bit - yeah, I hate that too. I even cleaned my apartment today and went grocery shopping, so I would have breakfast in the house for tomorrow morning. I could have spent all day sleeping. :luv:

i have this one. but since he's so tiny, people can't see the baby

65ce_2.JPG

oh cool. this is the type I was talking about

make-baby-sling.jpg

the one where he's in a sitting up position won't work. he can't control his head yet and he's way too small for that.

It's a metrowrap. You can actually flip it up higher and contain him.... it's a lot like swaddling and works on all sizes. I picked one up and it was about $60? I think. It's a lycra-cotton, so it's not without pressure if you wrap it a bit tightly (enough to pin the baby in place) but isn't too tight. It works up to 40lbs, but honestly if I have a 40lb kid, they are walking.

the link shows some different wrapping styles.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

We are going to a thing called "Night of museums" - all museums and galleries in town are open until 2am, with live music and performances by artists.

Grrr....sorry your friends bailed. I saw ads for a Night of Museums thing in Berlin when we were there too. Looked cool.

We're going to be in Germany from August 2 to the 16th. The 15th is the Wiley Open Air Festival in Neu-Ulm (DTH!!!! WOOT!) and we're expecting to go to Nuernberg to visit my bff at some point. I've no clue where else we'll go. We'd love to go into Austria or Switzerland to do some hiking with the kids and we'd also like to go to Prague, but I don't know if we'll make it there. I don't see why we can't head up to Frankfurt too :-)

Yeah - heroin is out, crack is the new thing. And the Taunusstrasse is now full of toothless wh=res. The red light is still there, but there is a second one downtown which is less dodgy.

i suppose that is a benefit for their job
